Apparently, stem cell research, if it becomes mainstream, might be the key to rather lengthy life extension. I wish I could find the article I read a while back, but stem cell experiments on mice which are bred to have rather short lifespans seem to have extended their average lifespan to the point if they were human, they would live to be an average of 200 years old.

Would be quite interesting of something like that comes along within our lifetimes.
