New Year--Resolution and Birthday!
Happy new year to everyone!
So I decided that I'd make a new year's resolution this year. I've never done that before, because I never saw the point. But this year, I decided I'm going to get in shape. I've always been decently average, but I've never been, mm, "buff?" I mean, I've never had noticeable muscles. So my goal this year is to get there, using P90X.
It's not going to be easy--over the past year or so, I've packed on a couple extra pounds of fat, and have gotten noticeably softer around the middle (something that's embarrassing to admit, because I've always been very critical of myself). I've also noticed these past few years that when I exercise, I don't get the kind of quick results that I used to get when I was younger. And with my wonderful ability to lose interest in things very quickly, sticking to an exercise program for an extended period of time is going to be really tough.
That said, I'm turning 29 on the 9th. Yep. I'm getting old. That's probably part of the reason I decided to get in shape. I want to be in good shape before I leave my 20's.
So, uh, words of encouragement are definitely appreciated. I want other people to be aware of my goal so that I can be held accountable if I start slacking off. :)

P90X works! My best friend and her fiancee are using it and seeing awesome results. Of course, they say it kicks your ass too, but maybe that's a good thing? Good luck!
