If anyone remembers all that awful shit that went down last year with my nieces, I have some good news.

This past Wednesday was the monster pedophile's court date. He was found guilty and sentenced to three consecutive life sentences. The judge told him point blank, "you are going to die in prison."

I have to say, it is the best outcome I could have hoped for. I was so, so worried that the justice system would fail, as it seems to often do. That the defense attorney's reasoning of "children often lie" would convince some of the jurors and he'd be let off the hook. I honestly cannot express how elated I am that that man will never be back on the streets, never be around another child again for the rest of his life.

This story has a happy ending, in a sense, and I hope that as my niece matures and grows, she is able to find comfort in the fact that the man was rightly punished for what he did to her. I hope she finds some solace in that.
