First off, things have settled down since those journals from months ago. Dad made it through surgery alright, took a very long time to heal but he's pretty much back to normal and back at work as of two weeks ago. So that's good news.

Still am not able to see the children. My mother has seen them once or twice for very short periods of time. Usually when she catches them after school, before they walk home. DCF has a case open on them. Their father has been showing strong signs of being back on drugs again.

Quaylak and I bought our first house not too long after the whole dad-in-hospital thing. So we spent a bunch of time going through that crazy ordeal. All of this stuff ate up a bunch of time and set back my work schedule but I'm dealing okay. Not really "catching up" but back to moving along smoothly I suppose.

I keep getting sick, though. We've found the probable cause and it has to do with our HVAC system not being set up properly. We'll have to spend some time correcting the issue and hopefully these frequent sinus infections will stop occurring.

And I'm just gonna throw this out there: during the week, I sometimes get kinda bored and lonely, working on these suits. If anyone has AIM or Skype and likes to chat, I'm usually logged into one or both as jakejynx. Feel free to say hi. :)
