You never seem to be on, or even bother to engage me much to talk.

Oh that because I'm a dork! I haven't been on skpye much at all, and with AIM I tend to stay off of it cause of stalkers. Plus I know I don't engage in talking to other first I wait for them to talk to me which is dumb, but I just feel if I start the conversation and then have nothing to say it would be a waste of time.

So...you don't engage in talking to others first, but you're making an issue of the fact that nobody seems to talk to you?

BTW, even if you have nothing specific to say, perhaps they do. Asking people how they're doing, especially if you haven't talked to them in a long time, doesn't strike me as a waste of time. Or, as someone once put it-

If you haven't talked to someone for over two weeks, consider the possibility that they might be dead.

Well people use to IM me first, and I'd tell most of them to do it because of me wanting them to IM me first. It's just something I've always done, and people talked to me but then just stop, and this was recently.

Most of the time I ask people how they are doing, and how's their live has been, but after that the conversation just goes dead 90% of the time. I find it a waste personally. It's just the way I'm.

If I start to feel that conversation is always dependent on me making the first move, there's a good chance I'll stop trying. I neither like nor trust situations where I feel like I'm always the one doing the work. Friendship is, or at least should be, a 2-way street.

Just because sometimes a full-fledged lengthy conversation doesn't ensue doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Frankly I appreciate friends who check up on me from time to time.

Put another way - something is better than nothing.
