Seriously, Guys. I'm Still Alive. XD
Hey all. ^^
Sorry I've been inactive on FA for so long as far as uploading stuff. I know a lot of you guys were wondering why I've just limited my visitations to just art faving and the like as opposed to anything else. Truth is, a lot has happened over the course of the year I've been "gone," sort of speak, and things have calmed down since then to the point that I feel comfortable sharing it with you guys if you want to know what's been going on.
Last February, I was forced to move out on my own a bit earlier than I anticipated, due to my mother losing my family home to back taxes. I had an apartment lined up that I liked, but because I didn't get the funds on time I missed out on the lease. Fortunately my back-up plan fell through at a cheaper rate and I was able to move in immediately. Because of the sudden eviction, a lot of the things I needed and planned to purchase before I intended to move (mattress, bed frame, furniture, etc) had to be purchased over the course of my first year after setting up my budget for rent and bills, and things are now starting to get settled.
For those of you who are wondering about Shuuban, I regret to inform that the board is pretty much over. Over the course of the site's last year, I made a lot of stupid decisions and ruined some really good friendships that were developed. The result was the site being put on an indefinite hiatus a bit after I acquired internet access within my place, and making the active decision to stay away from administrating a board like that, and having that much power until I feel that I am responsible enough to use it. So if there's anyone reading this journal that falls under the category of those that I've hurt or betrayed, I am truly TRULY sorry.
So yeah, the forced move and the site at first were the main tolls. Then in June, my dad died. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year prior. At first, it looked like he was beating it. Then it flared up very bad and he started to lose muscle mass. It was hard for me to see him like that, and when he did pass I took it very hard. I loved my dad. He was always there for me, always supported me in everything I did, and accepted me when I came out to him (my mother to this day still doesn't know I'm bisexual, and I plan on keeping it that way). Then to make matters worse, my older brother was killed two months later in the Chrysler plant here in Michigan. 2012 was just a very bittersweet year for me.
I say bittersweet, because there have been silver linings. For those of you who have been wondering, I have not stopped writing. I've just been working on personal projects; projects that I'm in the process of trying to get out in the open in different ways. I do plan on finishing the second half of "Cutting Corners" Season 3, but it's gonna be a while. I'm sure its obviously known by now that
kokuhane and I are no longer together. But I am still good friends with both him and
charkonian, and wish the two of them the best. So I want to state that this is not the reason why I placed the series in extended hiatus. I want to grow in my craft in different genres and such, so I've been making my two projects the priority; one that I plan on soliciting to agents and publishing companies, and the second as a way of gaining an extra source of income immediately.
The latter is a series of superhero ebook novellas I'm writing and releasing on Amazon Kindle, called "Phantastic Stories." Over the course of this year, I'm gonna be releasing six 10-chapter novellas featuring different O.C. (original character) superheroes that reside in the same universe. Each of the six stories will connect in one form or fashion, leading up to a "Season Finale" I plan on releasing in December. If anyone's interested, the first novella's available already (
kokuhane did the cover art for me and its awesome! :D), and the second will be available the middle of next month. So if you have 3 bucks to spare, you can click here to get it. It'll be greatly appreciated.
But yeah, that's about it. I'll do my best to try and post some stuff up from time to time, at least until I'm ready to finish "Cutting Corners. And to those who decided to watch me due to my past works, thank you very much. It really means a lot to me, and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
Until the next journal, guys. Take care. ^_^

Keep up the good fight, chief. Welcome back-ish!
Just get your stuff together. You'll do great when you decide to start things up again.
Well it's good to know there were some positives at least, and that you're getting things in order, moving on to new things, and developing yourself and your craft. Your new novellas sound rather intriguing, when I have the time I hope to check them out. ^_^
