Yeah, but we're a community, an entire fandom, which is built on a base of social awkwardness. (IMO) Just tonight I apologized to a friend who I briefly engaged a sexual way. "Hey man, sorry I came on so strong." He said, "I'm a furry, nothing is too strong!" There's definitely a wide range of thought as to what's acceptable. Unfortunately, it's not so easy for everyone to recognize when they're making someone else uncomfortable. I'm extremely aware of that and probably would have gone all creeper on some people at the zoo meet otherwise.

What's the answer? If it was easy, we'd all know what to say in one of those situations. "Get away from me ya creep" isn't enough sometimes. "You're not gonna convince me about gun control or Jesus or Cthulhu in a Facebook posting or FA note!" Yes, some furs don't get it. But understanding it's not maliciousness, but only ignorance will make it a little less bad.

I understand where your coming from. No matter where you go, there's differing views. So while one person is a democrat, the other republican, atheist, christian, gay straight, whatever. I just am starting to notice that the fandom seems very one sided. Just wish people could just act cool, without making statements that would ruffle up some feathers.
Oh well. I'm here for the long run. I'm not leaving this fandom. Just hope I can help do my part to tidy it up is all. Thanks, Punkcat! :D

You've heard "OMG the fandom is so accepting of all different types of people." Catch is, if you want to be accepted, it's good form if you are accepting of others. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that! :)
