The Portland Roses kept their Furry Cup hopes alive tonight with a much-needed 6-5 win over the Tail Storm in Erie, PA tonight. The Storm currently lead the series 3-1.
While the Roses won the game, however, they lost their regular-season MVP and shoe-in for Rookie of the Year Aodhan Murphy to an elbow injury.
Prominant postseason teammate Marty Walnut had this to say: "Since the start of this season, Murph has brought much hope to our team. He even became the 1st bird that this fox squirrel really became friends with. It'll be a major challenge to win the cup without him, but we'll be ready to fight for it tooth or claw regardless!"
Murphy led most of the regular season in points and scored a goal and 2 assists in the last game.
