Holy crap that sucks. My laptop has problems with overheating and it crashes constantly. XD I fixed it by using a music sheet holder from my keyboard. It works perfectly. lol.

I'm sorry to hear about the continued laptop problems though. If the only problem right now a few of the keys not working, you can always look into remapping those keys to some of the Function keys. This may at least allow you to use it to chat online with it. Just do a web search on 'remapping keyboard' and see if you can find something that helps.

Of course, that would only be a temporary solution, but it may help save your sanity for at least a little while. Not that insane skunks aren't awesome and adorable as well.

Also, did you even get the issue of the screen blanking out fixed? My suspicion is that the problem is a bad Screen Inverter Board, which I'm sure the place you brought it to never checked. Everyone always looks at the laptop monitor itself, and ignore the Inverter Board. So, even replacing the screen doesn't fix the problem if the Inverter Board wasn't replaced as well.

Ironically, the only keyboard issue I ever had with my lappy was the ; key fell off x3 but it was still perfectly useable (and handy for finding homerow in the dark) but THIS keyboard on the family comp... spacebar must be SLAMMED to work, x and punctuation are uncooperative and the f4, f5, f8 and f12 keys just don't work. They sit there in permanent pushed down status to indicate their borkedness. x3
