There is one thing I always wondered about ....
Fanart are always nice to see but I never understood why people sell stuff with fanart on it, it is not their character ecxept the piece of the art itself.
I thought it was illegal to do that, to make profit of a character that you don't own but no matter where I go especially on convents I see fanart for sell and some pages on the net too which only makes me confused.
I don't mind that people draw other characters from games, tv shows or movies.
It is refreshing to find some chars in other styles and what the artist behind the fanart thought but selling that as an example as buttons, the art is their .. but not the character.
Am I the only one that think like this?
I am not trying to be rude, just wanting to know if I am really one that thinks on stuff like this

just confusing stuff for me, I always thought you had to ask the owner before selling any stuff even with big companies just to be on the safe side so you don't get into trouble
like some artists are very picky about what happens with their character and have no lists to be on the safe side
In the end, though, I agree with you. If someone is going to use someone else's intellectual property, they need to have permission and agree to any terms they set out for using their work (% of profit, only can be used in certain scenarios, etc.).
