Just wish it wasn't Flash. Other then that, nice to see them doing animated shorts.

I thought it was a fun short although it didn't blow me away or anything. The pacing felt really fast, not sure if that was just done for today's attention-deficit kids or if they had to keep it to 3 minutes for some reason. I liked the character designs too, good combination of classic with just enough modernization. The music felt kind of generic. The Flash animation didn't really bother me, although I'll always prefer hand-drawn if given the choice.

I enjoyed it. :) Perhaps not a classic for the ages, but fun and entertaining. You never know what will last.

I agree with you, but at this point, I think I'll take whatever we can get. It's sort of reached the point where one has trouble remembering that Disney used to make cartoons. :P

They're doing a whole series of about 20 of these, I believe, so more should be on the way. Donald may make an appearance in short order!

I liked the attention to detail with the backgrounds. Particularly with the architecture, the church cathedral is fine detailed and is a bit mesmerizing to look at. The art style of the characters is somewhat reminiscent of the old black and white cartoons, So it was an interesting blend of the old and new. Even with the language barrier it was clear enough to know what was going on in the story so it translates very well. It almost serves as a silent cartoon to those of non French speaking nations.

But yeh, to have Daisy and not Donald is a disappointment

I thought it was cute! It was nice to see them try something new, and like the animations in Epic Mickey but in a short. I really liked how rough the lines on it looked, it was really stylized. The thing I wish for though was that golden age of animation from the 90s or them to make something with that same way they animated Paperman. That was lovely!

They made it for one reason, and one reason only: The copyright on Mickey was about to expire.

Saw it just a couple days ago... a friend told me and warned me the character designs are uber-uhhhhh..designey *ulp*... not all that sure it's all that appealing yeah... will have to watch it a few more times to mull it over... I will say I liked the backgrounds quite a bit though, so that has redeeming qualities. And even though most of it was fluff, I did get 4 or 5 chuckles throughout the story :>

I don't get why people harp so much on flash animation. This is a prime example of how lovely it can look when used properly. I thought it was a wonderful short, a great addition from Disney.

I thought it was pretty good for flash :T Besides, Disney has a seething hatred for 2D animation these days (ignoring the fact it's what built their empire in the first place), so I'm just happy that they bothered to make *anything* 2D at all, even if they went for a cheap/comparatively minimalistic style and medium. I agree, more Donald would always be hilarious, and sadly the days of DA cartoons will probably never return. But then again, they get points for nun-bowling XD

I really liked the style, and thought it was a nice mix of old and new styles. SO HAPPY to see 2d animation from Disney, so I loved it.

I thought it was terrific, no qualifications necessary. It was a cartoon without pretensions. I compare and contrast it to the likes of the Prince and the Pauper, Runaway Brain, and the various House of Mouse and Kingdom Hearts usage of Mickey and Company. This was a fun return to Mickey's roots of having a simple cartoon adventure without trying to introduce something new to the mix or weighing the proceedings down with lavish production values or ambitious storytelling goals. It was simple, effective, fun, and satisfying. Cotton Candy entertainment.

It's not entirely Flash, actually. It's done partially with the same drawn-on-3D system they used for Paperman, as I understand it.

I don't care what software it was made in, though -- it's fun, expressive, and drawn by talented people. Lots of energy and lots of love. I'm looking forward to more.
