Mother's killer sentenced, And thoughts.

The man that killed my mother was sentenced Friday, May 3rd, 2013.

I'm conflicted, and weary, as well as unhappy.
Only 14 years. He should have gotten more, but the way the laws are written the only sentance the judge could hand down that wouldn't get contested was a single 14 yr sentence.
That's not counting any other charges he might have.
I don't know. I'm weary of it, and a bit disgusted. The good thing is he won't be on the road for the next 11 years at least.

Still, no matter the charges, or the the punishment, I'm still without momma. I've lost some one I relied on so long, I'm left feeling empty. I understand the legal aspect, but the defense attorney's request for Probation just about made everyone in the court room stand up. He was insane to even expect a yes answer to a question of probation.
It is an opportunity to start making peace, if I make any sense. He's going to have to carry this around for the rest of his life as a burden of what he's done.
I know it doesn't seem like much in the light of what your family went through, but there are places where he would have gotten much less.
