Chapter Two: Ambush
I've just started "Predator: Chapter Two; Ambush", which is likely to be about a week or two from now before completion.
Ambush will pick up a couple of days after Instincts, with the menacing Cougar on the hunt once again! This time, he chooses an interestingly different setting as he prowls for a much more deliberate target among the crowed. Using his interesting set of primitive 'social' skills, he navigates the challenges and benefits the public grounds toward his purpose. However, a surprising detour will cause him to change priority after the blood starts to run, forcing him to a place he'd very-much rather not go. . .
Who had the brilliant idea to start a raffle and gather opinions, I was able to learn a lot about how I would like to proceed with the Predator stories, as well as other separate story pieces.
I would like to give special thanks to one person in particular so far, who took the time to offer some short, but very helpful commentary on Instincts.
"As for the first chapter of the story. Impressive! Bleak, but very impressive. The imagery is pronounced without being overwhelming or too wordy though there were a couple points where it seemed slightly confusing to the scene while he was still in the truck, but aside from that it flowed smoothly and made for quite an intense read. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more and have watched Kaldravv as well in hopes of seeing more."
His comment was very pleasant to read, informed me of what stood out to him, but equally importantly, it also told me where a weak spot in my story telling was! You can bet I'll be re-reading that section of Instincts over a number more times so I can better present the scene in future works, and likely repair that space with minor edits while I'm at it.
The reason I liked RemyFelis' comment so well is because of the time he took to not only read my story, but also to highlight what stood out positively, and also he gave me a single object to focus on improving! And honestly, one per piece is more than enough to improve with.
So thank you, RemyFelis, And everyone else who commented on the raffle! Especially you Cougar fans! American big cats ftw!
