Canada Visit! (Pictures Included at Bottom)

♥Here I am, sitting in my bed the day after without my fox beside me, an empty feeling. You guys know by now to expect journals like this: accounts of my amazing adventures with friends close and afar. Well, this one was certainly an adventure I’ll never forget.
A few months ago, after his visit to Atlanta, Leo and I decided that I should suck up my fear of flying and head up to Calgary to see him. It’s not that I was necessarily “scared,” but I’d not been on a plane in over 15 years! A lot has changed since the late 90s. And I tell you! When I was heading through security to catch my flight to Calgary…it was rather intimidating. Like, I was completely stressing out, haha! But alas, I made it onto my plane, fighting through the bad weather on takeoff and landing into Calgary (very bumpy). I was very thankful to have this wonderful girl sitting next to me. She was around my age, and we talked pretty much the whole flight through about things ranging from work to how much we loved Disney. Having her there on my flight was marvelous, and she did a great job telling me what was going on during the flight and what to expect.
Upon landing and getting my bags, Leo was there waiting to pick me up and take me home. A long journey of unknowns, landing in an area I’d never been before…but there he was, looking at me with the same, comforting, loving smile that told me I was safe. My Leo. After some dinner at Denny’s, he took me home and we snoozed and tossed around in bed like always, a couple of lazy dumbfaces~
The first few days of my visit, Leo was working. So his roommate, Jess kept me company during his work hours, and she pretty much served as my tour guide to Calgary. I felt quite welcome around here immediately: she’s energetic, spunky, bouncy, and crazy fun! Kinda like me…but even more crazy (hard to imagine, huh?)! But man! We walked miles and miles (kilometers and kilometers?) around the city, and she showed me so many things, so many places. Seriously, by the end of the night, I felt like I knew how to get around the city like a pro (and actually, later on, there were quite a few times I found my own way to certain places, yay). Jess and I ended the day incredibly worn out! But it didn’t end there. Another day Leo was at work, Jess and her love Tom took me out to Calgary’s Lilac Festival. They both dressed up in elaborate costume, almost cosplay like, and Jess had these incredible silver wings (Wings of Isis) that made her look like a tornado when she danced. It was really pretty. Once again, I had another great day exploring the city and its events with Jess and Tom. Hehe…I’m actually surprised at Leo. He doesn’t know anywhere near the amount of places she knows around town. Ask him where to go, he says, “Ask Jess!” X3
Come the 27th, when Leo was officially on vacation, all four of us took a trip to the mountains and hot springs in Banff. It’s only an hour out of Calgary? Dang! It was so beautiful out there with snowcapped mountains as far as the eye could see. Driving there was a breathtaking sight, indeed, and we found this quiet little restaurant along the way that served a totally awesome breakfast with a view of the mountains. Gotta go back there sometime, definitely! But we arrived at the Upper Banff Hot Springs for a day of relaxation, and what a day it was! Just slipping into the waters there melted away all your pains and stressed and literally just zapped the energy from you. We loafed there in the water for an hour or more, talking, laughing, and sharing content sighs all around. And after that, we swung (literally) a ride on a gondola to the top of the mountains. Apart from Leo and Tom threatening to rock the gondola from side to side (the idea scared me and Jess, those meanies), the trip to the top was amazing! And standing at the snowcapped top, wearing shorts and a t-shirt suddenly wasn’t enough. Total climate change, hah! But the views from up there were incredible, definitely much more spectacular than the mountains we have around my parts. We could see the storms rolling in over the landscape too, which was also the reason why we left.
Quite frankly, other than the Banff trip, the majority of the trip was taken day by day. We did whatever came up. Quite a few nights were spent playing Mario Party and hanging out and eating stuffs with our friends
ocean and
kallikai. Heck! We even spent a day looking at cars with Ocean. Not that I mind (*car nut* X3). There were two days that
graedius and
leokitsune came to visit us too, staying in the Marriott across the street from the Calgary Tower. We had a blast hanging with them, and at nights, swimming with them and acting like idiots in the hotel pool. Another day, we had lunch with
silentravyn and
morg at this really hip joint in town. That was really fun too! Most importantly, though, I enjoyed spending time with Leo. I mean, he’s visited me four times. He’s seen my life, seen how I live, hung out with my friends, but I’d never seen his. Finally being able to experience it, to see the life he lives, to meet the friends he talks so much about was wonderful. Just being there with him was wonderful. I really, really want to thank him for that. For giving me the chance to come up there and be with him, for him supporting me while I was up there, for all the silly little moments we shared (like how many times he’d do a ninja ear-lick/nip to tickle and make me squirm), for giving me all the love in the world all those miles away from home. Never once did I feel homesick. But here I am now, back “home,” but I don’t feel like I am. I miss him, and I miss his city.
Now begins the road to recovery, getting things organized here where I am, trying to wrench my way out of the downer mood I’ve been in since returning. I hope we cross paths again really soon. Thanks to everyone who made this trip so awesome! You guys are wonderful!
And thank you, Leo, for an adventure I’ll never forget. I’ll be up there again real soon. I love you so very much.

you are the biggest dork, I swear to God XD
I can't wait for the chance to go out into the world and meet dumbfaces, myself.
Glad you had a blast dude. Sorry that I couldn't make it up there. I will eventually be back to Georgia this time this year so you got that ;), but I definitely still wanna go to Canada to see you guys if you are planning on going again. We'll see what happens though ^_^;;.
Hope you are feeling well though. I know how hard it can be to say goodbye to someone you really care about. Let me know if I can do anything.
Sounds like an amazing series of adventures! You're both dumb faces~ :3
