Sorry that happened to you. I received hacked email messages from Stuffed Panda and Wicked Sairah recently. Tikky had his hacked not too long ago also. Not sure why a bunch of folks are having it happen.

Oh I got my first compromised email account earlier this week.

I know this sounds bad but it makes me feel not quite so stupid that other people are dealing with this as well (although, really, I wish this didn't happen at all); I should have been way more diligent about changing passwords, though.

I was just living on a wing and a prayer with a password that wasn't much better than "password" on that account for like, four years. That someone used to to send one spam email to a company, a politician and a friend is pretty funny to me.

Just happened to me as well today, so annoying haha!
It seems to have been happening a lot recently with people as well which is weird...

It is; I am surprised how many people are saying it has happened to them recently. I guess all you can really do is be more on the ball about passwords and account security, but it is annoying.

Ah yes the hacked email. I have gotten one recently as well

It happens, hope were not using same password in more places. Besides, having email box secured by two additional things like your phone (tokens) or another email box linked to recover pass would help a lot. My Gmail was hacked once, but I instantly recovered the account as I was able to use to routes to simply change pass.

Thankfully I don't use that password anywhere else. I was able to log in and get all the info changed pretty easily; also deleted all my contacts as a pre-emptive thing.

I've been getting like three million (Okay, just like 30) emails from hacked accounts, so you are not alone!

I know what it's like getting hacked... I lost a $30 account with AdventureQuest Worlds due to hackers. And the company wouldn't help me get it back. =X

That's funny. This just happened to me today. I need to go home and get it fixed before it keeps sending all this damn spam.

thanks to WOW I got the email I've always used with absolutely everything hacked and it took me and age remembering the details like previous passwords etc. to get it back, i've made about 7 new folders and sorted all my emails into them since then because I'm not having that happen again

Weird. I started receiving spam for the first time ever today. I changed my passwords and upped the privacy settings and we'll see if it happens again. If FA is the common link, something needs to be done.

I had my first ever hacked e-mail incident a few weeks ago. Thankfully it was an e-mail address I don't use for anything much so I only had a couple of contacts on it that were still active so the damage was minimal. Sorry it happened to you as well... :(

I had my main email hacked. The most they did was use it to steal my minecraft, I got back in and changed the password, but that was all I could do, the email they used to hack it was a bruteforce code, and I couldn't remove it. I spent the entire day migrating all my accounts to a new email, by the time I finished, they signed back in and changed the password again. They even changed the account name and profile picture, but of course microsoft tech support is just a recorded voice that doesn't respond, and noone else can do anything about it.
