so yea this is just an about how i am dooing lately journal.
and my biggest news is... i have a job at Sea World. now i am not a killer whale trainer yet... YET... but for the moment i do have an awesome job. i am fixing to start working as a diver there. my job is titled Maintenance Diver so i will most of the time be going into all of the tanks and cleaning them and repairing them. and i get to swim with all of the animals. (except killer whales u.u ) only a hand full of people can go into the water with them. but even then i get to dive with sharks, dolphins, stingrays, belugas. sea lions, penguins, and many other animals.
i did my swim, dive, and scuba test in the sting ray tank and it was so much fun. as i am swimming laps, i have the sting rays just gliding under me, it was awesome.
and what really got my hopes up is the head of the zoological department was the one who tested me. and as we were talking, she asked why i hadn't applied for animal trainer. i said i didn't feel experienced enough too. she said with as much horse training experience i have had, i do qualify. and she said with having a job as a diver that would really help me to get into the training department.
i never imagined i could be this close to having one of my dream jobs. ^.=.^
on another note... my truck is not well, its rather sick. but who cares... i get to be a diver at sea world!!! :P

FA+

Not trying to be an ass, i just want to let you know what's really going on.
Also, consider watching The Cove or the trailer to Blackfish.
Oh and good luck with the job.
Er... or I will be.
Personally, I think it's great that you have the opportunity to make captive cetaceans' lives as comfortable as they can be. We hope to see pictures in the future! And... you don't happen to work at the Orlando Sea World? Do you? My favorite orca of all is Tilikum and it would just be AWESOME to have an up-to-date record on how he's doing... ^///^
Now, as a fellow orca lover, I believe you and all on-site care givers, trainers, and maintenance workers at sea world are honest and true to your convictions about cetacean care and safety. It's the owners, CEOs, and so on that I have a problem trusting when they say those things and do the exact opposite. Sea world has a shady history when it comes to... almost everything. Knowing this, it might be prudent to warn you now that other animal lovers who know of that history may seek you out as a "behind the scenes informant" when they learn that you're on the staff list.
Also- Sadness. That means no updates on Nakai either. :( For some reason, I hate that I live so far inland, but I don't see how that would make a difference as I prrrrobably wouldn't visit sea world if I lived closer to any other them... Probably. Actually, I doubt I could resist the temptation to see them. :p
unfortunately we are busy going from exhibit to exhibit, that i dont get much time to talk and visit with trainers and well they are typically busy too. so i have yet to learn the names of the orcas here.
