Nothing against the Big Dance at all, just taking a break from it all this year.

Thought I'd lay out my personal +'s and -'s about the con still:

Pluses

1) It's very much a town show. It seems like the entire city gets into the act, coming down for hours of furry watching, crashing parties, etc. It's really a unique sight!

2) Urban location means great chow & watering hole spots

3) I have several friends local to the area, so it's always a great opportunity to hang with them.

4) Beautiful convention center located in a very beautiful city!

Minuses

1) Far away!

2) Expensive to get to

3) An exhausting event (concrete floors, lots of hiking, elevator lines, everything's spread out).

4) The knowledge that it's so big, you just know you're missing something in all the madness.

Having said all that, I will be back next year. The con should blend much better with my work schedule then, so it's pretty sure to happen.

If you are going, have nothing but the best of time while there! If it's your first time, take it all in and appreciate it -- nothing quite like it anywhere else! :)
