I Dream Of Glasses (also college stuff)
Not really (that hasn't happened in an eternity, probably because I don't wear them that often), but people who hung out around me at AC probably have heard at some point, or at least noticed, that my glasses are terrible and messed up and I was constantly adjusting or holding on them. (AC and watching movies are almost the only times I use them; and AC was... a lot.) Skip the next 3 paragraphs if you don't want to read glasses backstory stuff, which you may have heard at AC anyway :P
So, yeah, they got messed up last year around May (So yes I had the same messed up glasses last AC). I bought a new pair after 2012 AC! It was pretty great. Then I took a nap about two weeks after buying them and old people stole them. Don't ask, I don't know, maybe they thought it was their pair of glasses or they accidentally knocked them over and stepped on them and didn't want anyone to know or something.
Then I got a new pair again, because, well, I didn't have any decent glasses again! I should probably mention at this point that I have to pay entirely out of pocket for new glasses. >_> Not only did the cheap section not have a single pair of frames I liked anymore, but the kind of frame I got last time was the last one they had of that kind (it was in their Understock from a long time ago), so I ended up deciding to get something different; a frame with differently sized/shaped glasses parts then what I usually get.
Terrible, terrible idea. They feel kind of weird and heavy at first, so I figure I'll get over that eventually. "Eventually" just turns out to be "I can't wear these without feeling really ugh for about 7 hours afterwords no matter how short I have them on, and they make my left eye feel terrible". At this point I really didn't want to buy new glasses for the third time in about a month or two without any success, especially considering I don't use them often, so I just suffer through using the messed up pair and the new but unwearable pair.
And now after wearing them for most of 4~5 days of being at AC, I find an old but perfectly usable pair of glasses in a cupboard at home. By now I've already very definitely messed up my left eye some by wearing bad glasses, so even this perfectly good pair feels kind of bluh after I take them off, but... at least I have ones that I can wear, now. That's... an improvement! A significant one.
Also I'm seriously debating going to college for Accounting for several reasons (My sister is doing it and says there's lots of openings for positions in that area, and math is definitely a strong point of mine which I figure is a lot of accounting, etc) Despite being good with computers, going into that area for a job... never actually seemed that appealing :/ I feel like I'd probably get bored to death of programming if I even got through learning it, and ontop of that I've often heard of things like "entry level positions want 3 years of experience" (I'm not sure if that was for programming specifically, but... I don't want to anyway, so it doesn't help.) The other areas are, what? Computer repair, or troubleshooting? I don't exactly hear positive remarks from several people I know who work as IT Support either, and I sure know that after awhile I would explicitly try to avoid having to help my mom with any of her computer issues.
I'm not exactly about to jump into college tomorrow or anything so it's not as if I've made a decision (I haven't even talked to my sister about it yet, which I'm now planning on doing soon), but, I guess this is something I'm looking into now. I certainly need to figure out a career plan thing in the near future, anyway. :P But... yeah!
Also I got my scooter fixed (It was only $109, hooray) and I got new shoes because my old ones were starting to come apart, yay :D With this being right after AC and a trip up north shortly before that due to a death in the family, I am now -totally broke- >_>;; Well, I'll save up money from work again fairly fast as long as there's no new incidents...!
