Visual arts? Not gonna be much help here, I'm bad at selling things in general, no less things I know nothing about.

What field do you want to go in after you get your degree? Advertising? Concept art? Illustration? Drawing a blank but I am sure there is more?

My problem is I am good at most or all of those things.

That's not necessarily a problem! It is more of a question of what do you want to do/what do you see yourself doing in an ideal scenario. Think about that, then create something that speaks to that spot.


i.e. if you are big into texturing and texture modeling, create your own videogame zone and do ALL the textures for it, if you like concept art, do a series of sceneries of how one fantastical place changes over time (from wilderness to farms to development, etc), if web design is your thing, do a set of web tiles and banners/headers, advertising: make up a product + brand then do an advertisement for it.

I can give more specific ideas once things narrow down! ^_^

Maybe do an infographic on something you care about?

Maybe something as simple as a visual recipe for those who aren't good readers... maybe of your soup recipe?
