Sleep study, ankle update, other stuff!
Well, after a month of going back and forth and waiting for insurance it seems like I am finally able to go for my sleep test. If you remember I had an overnight O2 (at home) test which said I had moderate sleep apnea. Tried an oral appliance and basically threw it in the garbe after a week of trying and not being able to sleep. Well, I was supposed to get a split night study but I don't think I can so it may be a full night and if determined I need something, I will have to go back again. Pretty sure they are just milking insurance since they said it got pre-approved but as long as I get the test to hopefully give me some answers about why I feel tired a ton of the time and just feel like crap more often than not. Just not looking up to being awoke at like 5 AM or so, that's early for me!
I go for the test this Monday and think I should do okay as I usually fall asleep in under 10 minutes but not sure when I get all wires and shit placed everywhere. Atleast the rooms look like a hotel room and should be pretty good for sleeping. Will be funny to sleep in clothes though as I usually sleep naked but don't want to scare the sleep techs. lol! Just hoping that this turns up the issue, and that I can get it corrected so I just feel better. I know I need to exercise as well but it's really hard to start when yuo feel like such shit to begin with.
Seems like my ankle is getting better until the next time I turn it or something. It's just forever weak and will most likely always be a pain in the ass. If we make it to MFF this year which we hope to, I will try not to kill it the first day! Outside of that just trying to fight off the summer doldrums here. It's hot! Much too hot for my liking and I don't like being outside in this heat. As I type this, I am in my apartment just doing very little on a Saturday when I should be outside doing some sort of physical activity. I'd go bowling tonight at Furbowl, but without staying over the drive is quite long and I get tired coming home after 1 AM. Oh well.
Guess that's about it. If anyones been through a sleep test before I'd be curious to hear how it went. Doesn't sound that bad but it's something I never been through yet. Hope every ones having a good Saturday and having more fun than I am. XD

FA+

Hope all goes well for you.
It's pretty hot here, too. We're getting a freak heatwave at the moment that has temperatures in the low 80s. Yeah, that may not be hot by Maryland standards, but it's pretty overwhelming for the likes of me who aren't used to it. It's been like that almost two weeks now - first time it's been that hot here in 7 years.
People are more likely to have a big fan that spends 90% of the year packed away and just a couple of weeks use in summer.
As for sleep studies, my wife and mom had them done. They aren't too bad from what they've shared. However, I don't think either liked the sticky, monitoring stuff. It's all a matter of doing all you can to get comfortable in order to get a proper study.
How well do you do when you sleep away from home? I know I have a harder time and, for that, I'd get skewed results if I ever had a study done. If there is anything you can bring and/or do while you are there to give the study location a stronger sense of home, I recommend it. :)
As for heat. Kazootles! I know your pain as, if I recall right, I am only one state above you and it has been a disco-inferno outside this whole past week. I've had to have my wife drive me to-and-from work as the walk just wipes me out as you feel like you've been to the gym for hours just as soon as you open your front door. I certainly hope these thunderstorms come through and bring the humidity down.
On another note, there are a lot of reasons for why you could feel so tired all the time. Lack of sleep, or lack of consistant sleep, is certainly one. However, there is also bodily needs for certain vitamins and/or minerals that can cut into your energy level. Perhaps all you need is a proper suppliment prescribed by your doctor to feel more invigorated? Blood tests are a good idea, if you haven't had any done recently, to see if there is something in your system that is throwing off your power levels.
*Hugs* Good luck to you, Scooter! Always rooting for you and wishing you all the best! :)
As far as heat yes, I have been wishing for a thunderstorm to move over and bring the heat down. MY AC here in the apartment can't keep up with the days as its up to 74 in here atm and will be up approaching 80 by evening. Makes doing anything outdoors not sound all too tempting. Hoping that we can see a break in this heat soon!
As far as other stuff, I must had a half gallon of blood drawn in the past half year. Been going to a new doc. I have Dysmetabolic Syndrome supposedly which is mostly do to being out of shape and overweight. It's hard when you feel like crap to begin with to get out and go to the gym. I know I need to, it's just something I will need to get to do though being in a less than eager mood just makes it hard. Thanks for the support Yosh-E-O! *hugs tight*
I know from others that going out when you know you are overweight isn't the easiest of things as, like me for my eyes and hunched back, you get "The Look". Perhaps bringing the gym to you could be what helps get you through? An elyptical is great and you can even watch TV while your working out.
If not, latban surgery is good from what I hear. Less invasive and, with a strong will, can really help you shed the pounds. Therapy helps, too, as it takes a lot of motivation and inner-will to drop weight. A qualified therapist could help give you additional motivation where others cannot.
Overall, I wish you all the best, Scooter. We have been pals for a long time and I want to let you know I am here to cheer you on and/or offer moral support as needed. :)
What the heck is an MCF? MCL? I'm sure that sucks. My ankles been crap ever since I first messed it up maybe 15 years ago. It's just forever weak is all. Also, your funny when your drunk! I really should be drunk right now, should at least start drinking! XD
Anyway. *hugs da squirrel... then jumps on his back*
Sorry about the ankle. My hip is finally back to normal and my rugburn has healed. Maybe you and I can make a solemn vow to smack the other if we see them trying to do fursuit games. :D
Good luck with the test!
