Sleep test results from night 1
Not sure if anyone cares or not but I got my results back from my first night at the sleep lab. Must say, the place was very nice with sleepnumber beds, nice TV, cable and private bathroom. Got there at 9 and got led into a room where I was told to just chill out until after 10 (there was another guy there with an earlier bedtime so he was first). lady came back in and was time to wire me up. A couple soft belts around my waist, leg monitors for restless leg, then pads for heartrate, then about 8 little electrode thingies all in my hair and around my chin and eyes. Finally, two nose thingies to monitor temperature and air going from your nose. After all that crap it was time to finally lay down. Ok, I admit it is weird being all wired up and expecting to sleep but it is possible. After conducting a few look this way, look that way, cough, ect. tests, it was finally time to sleep.
Supposedly out of the 428 minutes that I was wired in, I actually slept 328 minutes. I had an event (either apnea or decreased O2) 146 times for a 26/hr average. Was told I had O2 go down to 80% for a low. Soo, guess that falls in the Moderate Apnea range and she also said I had moderate O2 de-saturation. Also noted, was moderate to harsh continuous snoring. Soo, whats this all mean. Well tonight I am scheduled back to try sleeping with a CPAP machine now. Hoping I am able to get as much rest as I did the first time. Just hoping this helps me get some of the energy back so that I can work to self improve my situation as well by exercising more and all. Need to lose a few pounds so that I can get into squirrel and not worry about popping the seams! XD

FA+

The one guy who is 6-ft tall and weighs around 150-lbs soaking wet (he's REALLY skinny) would snore so bad, that you can hear him from the room down the hall!!! Sleep apnia isn't always weight related. I notice you're in the Maryland area, will you be making it to Fur Fright this year?
If you do, I can't wait to see someone in a squirrel suit
I wish you all the best with your sleep study results - Cheers!
Now I sleep with a BiPAP and I always wake up refreshed and not horribly exhausted all the time. I have a full face mask and it has headgear so I do get some irritation on my forehead and the back of my neck where there's contact, but all in all, worth the trade. :)
My dad basically got tested because his arm started to go numb from it, and now that he got that machine he's been a lot better. He's also way less shitty of a person.
Not going to do shit about this unless i get health insurance anyway I guess. Maybe i'll get tested eventually, I actually sort of like the idea of sleeping with a bunch of wiring all over me.
