Love you always, love you forever - 8.29.11 Officially, but together long before that For those of you not aware of what's going on, here is the journal that explains the whole situation pretty thoroughly: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4875651/
For those of you that want the quick low-down: I have broken a wisdom tooth, have no money, job, insurance or anything, and I need probably over $300 to get the tooth removed...
UPDATE
My tooth has gotten worse. More of it has broken off, and is now exposing some of the nerves to the elements. And what's worse? It wasn't even the sharp shard that broke off either...
Please halp ;w;

Look for a dental school near you. Often, they'll take patients at no cost for the students to work on under careful supervision. I've actually looked for one in the past, but sadly none are right around State College. I'm not sure if there are any around you within driving distance.

It looks like U Penn and Temple both have dental schools. Those are probably the closest ones to you if you're still in Reading.

I don't live in PA anymore. I live in NC. >.< But I'll look for a dental school, although I'm not sure how much they can do about wisdom tooth. Thanks for the suggestion, not something I've thought of before...

Ah okay. There's bound to be one somewhere near you. Doesn't hurt to give them a call. Worst they can do is say no. Best case, they bring you in and pull it for free, or at least for cheaper than a typical dentist.

Sadly when I do a search, the only ones that come up are over 100+ miles away for one, and 200+ miles away for the other. Apparently dental schools taking patients in this state are...low XD I'll keep them in mind in case the driving winds up being cheaper than getting it done at the local oral surgeon, but it doesn't seem like the best idea at this point.

If it's bad enough, you can also look into dental discount plans online. You basically pay some really low fee (less than insurance), and while it doesn't provide insurance, it does get you the discounted price that insurance companies pay. So, if it's an emergency and you need it done soon, it'll at least help bring the cost down.

Also, forgot to add, a lot of dentists and oral surgeons will have payment plans to help defer the financial burden if necessary.

OP
Sadly most of the places around here won't do payment plans because too many people will leave and never pay, I asked myself because I would easily be able to pull off a payment plan with my mate. It's the fact they want the money all at once that it's like a slap in the face. But I'll see what I can find out about the lower rate insurance companies can get. Thanks =)
