Working at a summer camp where most of the campers are low-income and come from families that are predominantly southern Baptist and have children from different fathers and mothers.
1. Children are ignorant because their parents are too.
I was talking to one of my kids about my roomates for this upcoming year and I had previously explained that one of my roommates was kinda gay (he's pansexual but wuteva, didn't want to explain it) but she said to me, " Oh, yeah your moving in with that one guy and the faggot". Now, this severely pissed me off, and I told her how rude and inappropriate it was. She later apologized to me and told me that he father frequently calls homosexuals "faggots" and that he has forbade her to even be associated with someone even the slightest bit queer.
Ignorance is taught.
2. People are very unaware of how "strange" the world truely is.
Another ignorance thing I guess. A lot of it seems to be people not wanting to leave their comfort zone and attempting the throw a bible at what they don't understand. not saying that I am all knowing or anything, I am too ignorant.
3. I dislike parents
I get paid shit money to watch 50 kids for 8 hours. Apprently , if something happens to their child or that child does something wrong and is punished, I am the bad guy.
Well end rant

Fantastic.
I love what society is becoming. These stereotypes just need to die. Seriously. There needs to be some modicum of understanding and acceptance between everyone, else shit's going to get really ugly, really fast.
I really dig what the Pope had to say about the subject earlier today. Gay, Straight, pansexual, asexual. We're all human. And that's what matters.
