Really...I think the LGBT community is shooting themselves in the foot with a lot of things that force their orientation down other peoples throats. Just like I told my dad (He thinks i'm still straight but this is still my firm belief)_I don't care what gay people do in their own privacy, but don't start hitting on me in public. if on gay marraige issue its the church thats blocking legalization. which it will fail. frankly cause church is not ment to use courts to enforce its doctrine for usa thats violation og 1st amend. and sense marraige is a civil right it can not be denie dto a same sex couple or consenting adults.

I really can't agree with you more. In fact, this particular issue branches beyond gaming. The organized gay community as a whole struggles with this sort of thing. It's almost like a heterophobia has spread throughout these groups, triggering conflict in places where there shouldn't be any. And on top of that, it's just too damn sexualized. I don't know about you, but if I saw a parade of half naked straight people running down the street, proud of the fact that they're straight, I'd be quite disgusted and uncomfortable. Why do gay individuals think it's alright to do so then?

That's just my opinion really. And if it means anything (mostly for people who don't know me), I myself enjoy individuals of the same and opposite sex. I think I'm free to speak out about a community I'm partially tied to.

Ya I saw a gay parade and felt the same way. It had a lot of neat stuff, but mostly it had a lot of mostly naked men in thongs and the like. I kinda went 'Uh....... this is not the message you really want to be transmitting." Then again there's plenty of basically naked women parades that happen too so, I guess it's "fine-ish" It's complicated!

I think there was a time and a place for such things about 2-5 years ago when the homosexual community was still largely rejected by society and needed to get together in a place where they wouldn't be rejected. Now there are states and countries that are largely accepting of homosexuals and the like and the con is just redundant to a large degree. I think this parallels how Feminists got lost in the woods a bit as they continued to push for more rights and equality in areas where they'd already achieved parity because some other areas ( both geographical as well as career based ) were still keeping them under 'the glass ceiling' case in point being how CEOs are still dominated by WASP while divorce settlements tend to start the woman out getting 51% and go up from there.

There was a funny email I was sent not to long ago about racism that points at the same idea saying things like "There's black history month, but if there were white history month we'd be called racist."

Anyhow... I don't know how the gay community is. I told one gay couple to stop making out in front of me and they got really mad at me. They were doing the whole grab ass tongue in mouth really uncomfortable stuff. They asked me "What? It's anything a normal straight couple would do. STFU." I growled at them and said "Yes, it's what any straight couple would do BEHIND CLOSED DOORS IN PRIVATE! I don't even want to see STRAIGHT people making out like you're doing, it's disgusting and uncomfortable in PUBLIC. GET A FUCKING ROOM!" And the conversation ended there.

I dont really understand gay pride, either. If people are saying now that gender preference is genetic, then basically gay pride is people skipping about saying 'Wheee, I got gay genes!' while wearing skanky, scant, kinky clothing and bright colours. It makes as much sense now as driving around shouting to the world 'HURRAH I'VE GOT BROWN HAIR!' or some such trait you got based on your genetics. I feel the gay community nowadays is entirely being hypocritical in these regards.

Still... this is more a point here of why gay gamers? Maybe Im not fully in the loop here, but are there are lot of homosexual games out there? It seems to me this is a con for gamers, with the added filter of 'LGBT' added on, and when you add filters, you narrow your demographic. A fur con is a con for furries. Add on a filter like 'wolves only' and you are just rejecting most of your audience anyways... easier to have a fur con and have a wolf panel/meet and greet at said con. Have a gamer con, and have a panel for the LGBT community AT said con... Or have a LBGT con, and have a panel for gamers.
