I Get it Guys: Gank is Changing
I'm tired of nobody interacting with the comics. Especially when I put a ton of effort I could (and should) be spending on other things into them. I'm not complaining, and I'm not upset (at you at least, I am mildly at myself), but I am practical and I recognize the need for proper time management. I want to continue Gank as it is now, and I know that the voter base would grow in time, but with this level of non-interest I don't want to take that risk. Besides, I could do so much BETTER...
So I will.
Gank is not dying, no matter how badly you may want it to. Instead it's going back to the shop. When it comes out it will have changed formats and blossomed as a full-fledged RPG video game! As in something you can click and interact with and everything! I think that's the format you guys want to see, and it's one I want to explore, so it's time we both got what we really wanted. Besides, there are a ton of interactive vore comics popping up, and I certainly would rather be an innovator than a copy-pole-cat. Even though I know this type of thing has been done before too... At least this one is fresh to me, okay? And it's more enjoyable for you, I think, in the long run.
So you heard that ramble right: I am moving into the world of VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT. Wish me luck.
The Gank Role-Playing System (you know that think you can use on your table tops and chat rooms and all that stuff) will also continue to be developed. In fact, expect a major expansion on it shortly. I also want to continue to explore the world of Areth, so in the near future Gank will continue as a small comic series intended to do just that and serve as an introduction to the video game, in whatever form that will take. More info on that as it develops.
In the mean time, this does free me up to get to some other projects (and commissions) I've been meaning to start on. Expect some major productivity before the month ends...
Sorry I'm so spastic, and thanks for the support.

FA+

In honesty, though? My response to what GANK is apparently going to become... may not be the one you hoped for.
"Oh god, not another f***king RPG"
I prefer the comics because it's a quick-fix, *bam* story, read, vote, done. Not having to spend twenty minutes wandering lost, confused, with no story to work off and no hook to draw me in.
Please don't change GANK.
Any chance you can send me a link to some samples in a note?
Long story, don't ask.
But I was making wasp jelly.
Anyway, what makes me happy is making you happy, so that cyclical relationship will give me lots of headaches, but you lots of content (hopefully), and thus me some hand cramps too, so it'll all work out in the end! For my local pharmacy!
Hopefully I'll be able to overcome that with future projects, but in the mean time all I can do is humbly ask everybody that brings this up to give me a second chance. I've learned my lesson from that too.
Let's ignore the whole "I don't like pirates" thing that I've heard from some others; pirates aren't really my thing either, but it's a setting that really hasn't been taken for one of these projects before - I was neutral on it, personally. In order for a voter base to grow, something needs to have some kind of draw to pull people in. VST had that built-in, because not only did you have the character owners themselves have an emotional tie to seeing their 'sona progressing (or not), you had friends of said furs that wanted to either save their friend, or go after someone else, or both.
Gank has the same idea as VST - normal votes, payvotes/donations, being able to put in a significant amount to save someone, but the fact that you weren't using someone else's character, who someone would get worked up over seeing the death of, is exactly what stopped this from taking off as quickly as VST did. Honestly, I'm not sure that one of these projects can pull in the userbase (and donation base) that you're hoping for without, at the very least, some of that related drama, and some bitter feelings after the fact. (Hell, I'm still bitter - at myself - for not putting in that $50 through a third party that would have changed things in an earlier round. I kept to my word and I hate myself for it sometimes. Think about this - you have people, and I'm probably not the only one, who are still sad to this day, months later, that they didn't put in MORE towards that project.) I'm vehement in defending someone I care about, and equally vengeful when it comes to fucking someone over who I think deserves it. Gank didn't really offer an opportunity for me to work with either of those things.
I do, however, quite like the idea of a video game along these lines, a proper RPG, and that's something I'd happily pay for. Perhaps what donation base you would have been hoping for for the comic could instead be used for things like including certain details, cameos, easter eggs, etc.? - things where people could slightly influence the direction but not compromise the basic vision you have for how you want this to progress.
Anyway, glad to here you're hopefully turning it into something you'll be even more happy with. I look forward to whatever you come up with.
