I was disowned by my adopted father today, three days after my separation from active duty Army and nine months after a twelve month tour in Afghanistan. The sad part is that I'm still unclear as to how it came to pass. As much as I would like this whole thing to be behind us, I just don't see any possible hope for this to be resolved to any degree of functionality. It will continue to be a standoff at best. Once again I have been astounded by the awesome and blinding powers of pride. It truly is the most insidious of sins.
