Characters
So, recently I had a series of commissions done by the very talented
dbd. The theme was based around my earlier stories about fish transformations. However, I was so blown away by them, I sort of have a new head-cannon formed, which I might try to express as a rewrite/reboot of the entire series, altering a lot of the characters and some of the themes. In the meantime, I shan't post them in my own gallery till I've got the ideas for them thoroughly hashed out, so you'll have to content yourselves with the links and some quick descriptions of the characters. On the plus, this does give you the opportunity to give the attention to the artist herself. =D
So without further ado...

Caroline "Carrie" Fisher, PhD, Ichthyology
Species: Sockeye Salmon
Bio: On a research trip to a remote northwestern river system, during which she hoped to meet up with the fellow members of her assembled research team, she inadvertently discovered the strange properties that quickly transformed her into her new form. The initial shock wore off fast, and she now views it as the opportunity to study her field in a way never before imagined, having become, essentially, the ultimate ichthyologist.

Kelly Lagos, MS Limnology
Species: Rainbow Trout
Bio: Kelly's studies of fresh water sciences brought her regularly into contact with Dr. Fischer at the university. While her area of focus only deals with fishes in a broader sense, she nevertheless jumped at the opportunity to accompany the professor into the wilderness for a summer of field research. Soon after arriving, however, Kelly met the newly changed Carrie, and fell victim to the same sort of changes. Overcoming the shock, she too found new energy and drive, enjoying the new form and forming a deep bond with Carrie, on both the intellectual and emotional levels.

John Waters, PhD Hydrology
Species: Brown Trout
Bio: A colleague of Dr. Fischer, he was happy to spend a summer working with her on her own research, as his own grants had come up short for the season. Arriving at the study area, and finding a beautiful lake, his first thought was to enjoy the cool water on such a lovely day, though he quickly found out first hand what sort of properties the water held. But rather than fear or shock, he felt exhilaration, and took to the water like, well, need it be said? Finding Carrie and Kelly shortly thereafter, the three set out to find the last member of their party.

Mike Warden, Fish & Game Ranger
Species: Arctic Char
Bio: Contacted by Dr. Fischer to help in the study of invasive fish, which as a ranger he had been monitoring for several years, Mike joined the small research team. Typically very stern and resolute, he is nevertheless adamant in what he does, and a valuable asset to the project. So when he, after an unfortunate fall into the river, found himself likewise affected, he saw the situation in much the same light as Carrie, and found it a bit ironic that he had become the same invasive species he had so long monitored.

I meant to read those stories before, but now I totally have a renewed interest in them. I'll have to get on that. :}===<
But, does this mean that you originally pictured them very differently, or what?
As far as what might change...
Definitely a big expansion, as now there are four characters. More info on their backgrounds. Maybe changing the means of their TF's, though I might keep it the same, as I did really like it when it came to mind. And, as I've gotten some more writing experience, I feel that I should expand certain scenes, as those stories are, compared to some of the others I uploaded, fairly short. And finally, in hindsight, just a bunch of nit-picking the phrasing, word choices and so on.
I certainly hope you do give them a read. Would love to get your expert opinion on them. =D
I just read Bait and Switch, but I suppose these guys are from Spawning Season, which will be next up, tomorrow, at some point, I hope.
Lastly, I feel like you've been going through my faves just now, by the way. >_>
Indeed. Sometimes what other people like is right up your alley. Good way to find good compilations of interesting thing, especially depending on the "faver".
