Summer is Over
Hello. Just got back to school. I'm in a suite with 3 other people (my twin, a friend, and some random guy we are all hoping isn't loud or annoying). This is the first time I've had a room to myself! (But there's no way to hang any decorations Xo) Should be pretty nice, and I'll have to cook a bit, so I'm hoping to learn a few more dishes, and not live off grilled cheese and deli sandwiches, not there's anything wrong with that! All my classes are science based, so that should be interesting. I'm gonna try to go to swing dance club and ballroom dance club fairly regularly to try to get better.
Most of my summer was walking my dog Sherman, working at the dog daycare/boarding kennels, or waiting for one of those. Walking the Sherminator was fun, went for 2-4 two mile walks a day, depending on heat. Working was fine, very frustrating at times (both because some of the dogs are horribly behaved and my coworkers were slackers), but it was a stable job and I made some good money.
Hung out with a few of my friends occasionally. We've almost beaten a racing game that we've been working on for 9 years! Just two more gold medals on two damn beat-the-clock laps! Only talked with my crush a few times because she was dealing with some personal stuff. Hopefully this semester goes better.
Not sure what kind of veterinarian I want to be anymore. Working with so many dogs and shadowing a small animal vet a lot has kinda killed any desire to be with a ton of the critters. I'm thinking of moving on to exotic animals. Dolphins, seals, and otters seem fun to treat.
Dad's cancer treatment is going well. He has completed the chemo and radiation, and any compromised lymph nodes were removed. He still has to take too many pills. Now we're just waiting for a liver to become available for transplant. Had two false alarms in the last two weeks, so it might not be too long to wait.
I'm realizing I have almost no talents. I'm not very creative, good at sports, don't have good social skills, not artistically inclined, and am not good at music. All I've ever really been good at is academics, and my brother is smarter...On the plus side, I haven't been depressed since the first week in May!
Over the summer I thought a lot about leaving the BOS/Colmaton group. I really haven't contributed much to it; not many ideas, chars, stories, artworks, etc. I'm gonna try to do more, and finally finish a fricking story soon. Guess we'll see how semester goes...
