Someone seriously took the time to draw a response submission that was offensive? That is like, a million times worst than the people taking a few minutes to think and type out a reply, that takes time and conscious thought and can't be swept away as an oops, didn't think that through....holy shit...I kinda want to see it because of my terrible curiosity and try to say something in a civil way...that if they can draw something like that in the first place won't get through...but it's worth the effort. Ugh. People these days. It's not just furries, I know normal folks who blame others for what happened to them, trust me. I know quite a few morons.

I figured that's what this journal was about. The responses in those submissions was utterly repulsive. This is why rape awareness and detailed information about consent needs to be discussed in this (and every) community.

Because otherwise, nobody can have nice things and we end up having these fucking ignorant cockshits to deal with.

It's like that law thing I saw that "comments on articles about feminism justify the need for feminism".

Only in this case it's rape awareness and the fact that assfucks think they should be allowed to be 2EDGY4U without repercussions.

It's a fact that sexual assault happens in every community nomatter what it is or who it attracts and the fact that so many people think it's okay to laugh about it or that somehow it's not their problem is horrifying in itself. There's already been at least one high-profile case on here and seeing the responses to that, it's obvious that a lot of education is needed.

Yeah man. There's no excuse for rape. People say it but don't know what it really means. It's never happened to me but I have had friends and fellows who were assaulted that way. It's violence, oppression, and destructive and there's not really a way for words to convey just how destructive and unethical it is.

And again, there is no excuse for it.

Even if you(as the speaker) legitimately don't find it offensive, it's not hard to drop the subject for the benefit of the other party. I think too few people don't think ahead to "What will my response accomplish?" I could argue back and forth about tons of stuff, but if I'm not accomplishing something positive or beneficial, I'm not sure what the point is.
