Well godfuckit, the con I'm NOT going to this year. I might be up there briefly to handle business things. I will likely look all official and shit.

Have fun. Remember to get out and see the city. Try new food. Bathe regularly.

My first con was super awkward too. In my opinion, the only reason to go is to hang out with people you know online. Some of the panels and events can be fun though.

That's what I plan on doing, for the most part. The con itself is secondary.

That's the best way to go about it from my experience :3

Also, last year was my first time, and I can tell you the first day is the worst - by the second day, I had met some people and had some idea what panels I wanted to go to and what stuff I wanted to see/do.

My advice is go to a panel your first day - that way, you are surrounded by furries who are there for the same reason as you and there'll be an obvious topic of conversation to break the ice. At least, that was how I got into it.
