FA and it's lifespan....

Don't get me wrong, FA has lots of life left. At least on the art department.
FA has been unique, the first of it's kind I have come across with no limitations (for me anyway) on what I can post. It has been my home since about 2007-8, though I joined in 2006. I was in a dual post mode with DA and FA. Since then DA (Deviant Art) has taken the shit and become a pretty crappy place, giving me a PC killing virus a long time ago. I left DA, save for posting random fursuit stuff.
FA was about a year old when I joined, and since then has had a roller coaster of 404 errors being my bane... as it was down for a month and a half. In the 6 years I have been here there have also been alot of contenders, Sheezy art, Inkbunny, Weasly, but none of them has toppled the 'king' so far. Some of those sites had great ideas and improved on some features, but through it all FA has managed to stay on top.
This leaves me to wonder. As I have been on the internet for about 15 years now, and have witnessed the rise and fall of My-space and several other sites. Alot of my older go-to sites for things I like are still around, but have become quite dated format wise.
With all the time and effort, as well as one-off stories that are ONLY on FA, as they were created by writing in the description box as I was uploading the drawings, I don't think that if something usurps FA's top furry go-to site that I would be able to successfully make the transition over to a new site. One reason would be that if FA ever 404's permanently, there would be thousands of artists flooding other furry sites that do not have the capability to handle the giant influx of furs that would arrive, and the art. unless they were to limit a 1 per day upload for a few months. Though that would lead to me taking forever to redo everything. (Though I would probably upload the best of what I have from the past two years alone, and maybe some older stuff that is popular.) And I have a decent user base here... So far I have 2371 watchers and 807 submissions. Averaged out, my 800 submissions have about 2 millions views across them all.
Now I like achievements, and so far FA has been the best place to put my stuff, numbers wise. So to start over somewhere new would be a mental set back.... I'd loose all my 'stats' and 'numbers'... not to mention some cock taking my username on a new site because reasons.
I just wonder sometimes, if FA is going to be around for a decade or two more, or will I get to post my very last picture on here and close out my art career, wrap up my user page, and get it ready for the day when no one is there to answer messages anymore and I go down in history as a mediocre furry with drawing skill....

From the beginning, i always wanted FA to be THE one. And i didn't like any competition, like inkbunny, or sofurry, weasyl. they're just flankers.
As for FA, I don't think it'll die off like some people are speculating. There might be some drama here and there, but that's about it.
