Here's an old Halloween TV special from 1979 that jogged my memory:

Thinking on it, I'm not sure I ever actually saw it in its original form , but instead broken into segments on another show, like "Great Space Coaster" or something.
I also didn't realize that it was Gilda Radner voicing the 'Fairy Godmother'.
Fun little special with unusual animation and a tiny bit of edge to it.
"Look! Nicely's passed out!"
. "heh, already?"

Also if you look to see what other shows there are I saw Bunnicula
holy crap, a link to Bunnicula! I used to see those books around all the time, never knew they made a cartoon ofit.
I had taped it off the TV and saw it again when I was in middle school, but lost the VHS some years ago. Was on the same VHS as Halloween is Grinch Night. I dont remember taping these so it must have been when I was super little.
Thats what sucks now at days, they don't make things like this anymore. Back when I was a kid, you could turn on the TV during the holidays and watch stuff like 'Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' or 'Garfield's Halloween special', or any number of animated or claymation specials. Now, its all just bullshit. They don't even treat it like Halloween is a holiday anymore, it just comes and goes on the way to Black Friday. What the Fuck happened to us?
Oh yeh, tried watching that one Cartoon Network special 'Scary Godmother'... that was manufactured ass. -.-
