Once, in a land no so dissimilar from ours, there thrived a small kingdom resting in a verdant valley. The bosom of the shimmering emerald plains fed the villagers and king alike, growing them healthy and strong. The Clear clean waters slacked the land's thirst and kept its people free of disease. The steadfast towering mountains hid the paradise from those who would ruin this land and taint its purity.
"Hielglen," proudly proclaimed the signs guiding the lost and unfortunate to salvation. The world just beyond the cozy valley, however, was not so ideal. Krimdorn was lit aflame in a bloody conflict, as she often had been, and ever the luckiest of the refugees would find themselves wandering into Hielglen's welcoming arms.
But no tale is worth the chaff on a lad's rosy red ass less a conflict be told. And, for Hielglen, and indeed all of Krimdorn, the winds of strife and the tides of change were long overdue. So we start with woman, young, not yet fifteen winters of age. So begins the story of...
