American Blackout

Now, I'll admit, I'm not one of those doomsday nuts that you see on TV on occasion, but I'll admit, after catching the show, American Blackout, for those who are techies like myself will find the show EXTREMELY sobering beyond all belief in terms of just how much our world, let alone the US, relies on electricity. It rather hits home in terms of just how you should try to survive when the world just comes crashing down and starts to burn for days on end, even weeks. If you have National Geographic, I'd highly recommend to look into the show, not so much to have the whits scared out of you, or to become a doomsday prepper, but because it makes you realize just how vulnerable our lives are to the very thing we take advantage of every day, every second of our lives. Normally, I wouldn't push this hard for people to watch a show or movie, but this is the first I've ever done.

It reminds me of the ending of the movie The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008) where Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) used a massive EMP to disable the grey goo but also disabled all electrical activity on Earth forever.
