Convention - Oklacon 2013 - BIG THANK YOU'S
12 years ago
General
First off, a general thank you to everyone. Thank you to those that tipped, thank you to those who helped out, and thank you to those that simply enjoyed playing. Every one of you is important and I really really did end up having a nice time this year.
That said I want to give the biggest thank you's to the following:
khonasfox
This guy... He's such a big fan of Werewolf, that for future years of both Oklacon and Wild Nights, it's unlikely that Werewolf will be in need of more event space. He spent a lot of time helping out and when he and a few others sat and talked to the con at the end of things, he really helped show the con the quality of people that come to these things largely for my event. Just, seriously, wow at everything you did and are doing.
nuka-kitty
Oh, Nuka. You actually got misled in that no-reveal game so badly. But you loved every minute of it. I give you the same sort of thanks that I'm giving Kfox, for the things you did for me. It was great hanging out with you, and I think I'll listen to what someone else said to me before the convention: I am not as much of a nobody as I may feel like. You're a very well known person in the fandom and it's very flattering to have you think so highly of my event, and my talents in executing it.

I know I say some RAWR things sometimes, but you stick by me and treat me well. I may be opinionated about all sorts of things, but those opinions are largely just me being cynical and venting. XD It was great hanging out with you during the con, and you and Kfox were both great emotional support. Believe me, you have my respect. :)
hartthefox
Hart, you jerk, why aren't you or Zapper watching me on here??? Zephyr isn't either! XD But that aside, it was great having you there every night. I could really tell you were loving every minute of it. And I've gotta say, it was fun counter-claiming Oracle against you. :D But yeah, you helped make things really fun for everyone. A great mix of silly, enthusiastic, and focused. Hope you got that giant die home safely, lol.
All in all, my convention costs were covered entirely, and I have enough left over for some new shoes and an oil change / car wash. Both quite needed. I -WILL- be attending Wild Nights this year, in addition to the already-known-about Furry Fiesta (gah, I need to get with them about scheduling/location). I also -WILL- be back to Oklacon next year. It was great to feel so welcome and loved by the fans of the game. I wish I had some stories to post of 'my favorite game moments' but I got so brain fried this convention that I honestly can't remember much of anything. Feel free to share your favorite moments, though.
I love hearing things about how I can improve, and I love hearing things that people enjoyed and things they remember positively. :3
PS: Nuka, umm, what's this? http://i.imgur.com/RFAlnOA.jpg I ... umm ... what? Why do I have... this? XD This is YOUR con-reg bag! But that's not the part that confuses me, because it's not like it was simply left in the A-frame somewhere, nor was it stashed upstairs (or maybe it was...?) No, it just magically appeared next to my giant pile of stuff during the time I was waiting for a decent parking space to load my car up. I was up there around 20 minutes, I come back down to where I dragged my block of luggage to outside A-frame 1, and right there on the ground, just sitting there, completely whole, was a convention goodie bag. With... your name on it. I am soooooo confused since no one would mistake the two of us, but it also wasn't just some random person's goodie bag. So how did I end up with it?!?! XD Forever a mystery. :O
Edit to above: I finally peeked in and there were two con books, a not-at-all-custom D20, and what seemed to be a signed print of the back image of the conbook. But that's it. So I am even more confused what I ended up with. I just know the bag said Nuka and could only figure someone left it with me for a reason. XD
Edit to con stuff in general: It's good to hear things are being worked on across the board. So here's hoping stuff will be better by next year. ^_^

And don't worry, the big black D was a tight fit but eventually we strapped it into my rear end.
We'll see you at the next one, I'll GM again for you as well whenever you'd like.
o.o;
Maybe I'll bring a cake to Furry Fiesta or Wild Nights. It'd be a rather small one, though, and no you may not eat it off of me. XD
Seriously though, feel free to pester me whenever. I need to stop being so damn introverted when it's not con-time. |3 I don't have much to talk about outside of Werewolf and anime, but I still should be trying.
I'm sure I can get you talking about something else.
And I still feel like a total ass for what I did to Nuka. T'was epic, though.
K Fox
You do an excellent job running Werewolves, and it is one of the things I look forward to most when I go to Furry Fiesta and Oklacon =D I try my best to run my own games as well as you do, and it's always a pleasure being in one of your games, because I walk away each time with something new to take home with me and try in the games I run up here =) I find myself equally flattered that you think so highly of me, given that I'm such a fan of your work!
The no-reveal game: I genuinely loved every minute of it. It was a beautiful mystery. I seldom get to be a player in Werewolves, since I run so many games up here. To not only be a player, but to be so completely led astray and to find myself embroiled in such a mystery... Well, it was a pretty unique experience =D I have to give credit to EVERYONE in the room for being so patient and for letting it play out as it did. I feel quite honored - it felt like it was a huge, four-hour mystery woven just for me. And even though I ended up getting us all killed, it was probably the most fun and most memorable game of werewolf I've ever had =D
Khonas - Don't feel bad ;P For what it's worth, I would have done the EXACT same thing to you in your position *grins*
Nuka, don't feel bad, the very next day I was in your shoes sitting right next to were-k-fox and I tried to be smarter about it by checking him first (since I was the seer) and he ate me before I could say anything.
