Antonio Trinidad threw eight strikeouts in 8 innings for the Ravens, who won their thirtieth game of the season to keep them out of their worst season.
While losing in the penultimate game may not mean much for the high-flying Pioneers, the seventh inning had a scare that may have grave consequences for their playoff run. Benito Rodriguez (PDX/SS/Ferret), the starting shortstop for the Neers was crashed into by Alanis MacKinven (MAR/1B/Leopard) on a fielder's choice play, causing him to go down hard as MacKinven successfully broke up the double play attempt. Team doctors have reported that Rodriguez tore an abdominal muscle as MacKinven kicked up. Replays show it as a clear accident, keeping MacKinven from any fines or loss of games, but the Pioneers lose Rodriguez for four weeks, guaranteeing he will be out of the playoffs.
Trey LaRocca had a strong outing, throwing 12 strikeouts for the River Rats.

OP
Wild Card game? There's not enough teams for a wild card game, the way the playoff works is the first half champ plays the second half champ, the winner goes to the WWS. There's just the one regular season game left and then the playoffs start. Unfortunately for the River Rats, they just missed it this year.
