Erectin' a Computer

So one day I spawn and there's this MySpacey looking dude selling his Gateway FX4710 for $800 on eBay-b-bay. I'm not so sure I want to "buy it now" because in MySpace, no one can hear you scream. But $800 is a total score, so I totally dollar-sign-eyeball myself that suckafoo. But it turns out that he is a spy and he starts sappin' and the whole thing goes bust. So I pick up the parts (my $800 back) and hunt for some more metal on newegg so I can try it again. No more spies this time, okay?
So even though newegg has this terrible symbol for a "Blazing Deal!":

I assemble some miscellaneous parts that I'm hoping will all work together and start banging on everything with my wrench. I eventually get something that turns on briefly, but the fan that keeps the processor from looking like that blazing deal logo kicks the whole thing in the blazing deal logo (I reach 212°F). I wrench it a few more times and eventually the plastic fan screws feel abused enough that they go into place.
...and now I have a fully assembled rig built so long as there aren't any proficient spies or Überrushes.
Parts:
3.16 GHz fan frustration device
8 GB click-into-place memory
2 GB Radeon HD 4870 X2 room heating unit (and space occupier)
Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer neighbor waker
1000w energy crisis contributor
