Back from US - Post boyfriend depression - MFF report
12 years ago
Hey everyone!
The tiger finally got home yesterday afternoon after an 8 hour redeye from Chicago. And after unpacking and fighting the jetlag, I finally slept almost 13 hours through ^.^
So, let's see what happened during the past 1 1/2 weeks.
On Friday the 15th I flew out to Los Angeles where
codyvfrost picked me up from the airport and introduced me to his husky husband Dev.
The two of them are such a cute couple!!!
On Saturday we did artsy-fartsy cultural stuff by visiting the Getty Center, a very impressive art museum in LA with lots of stuff from the 14th to 18th centuries. Too bad we didn't get to see the Getty Villa, where they have all the sculptures from Ancient Greece and Rome. NUDE MUSCLE GUYS, after all... they weren't sooo keen on depicting them in the 16th century
Sunday we took a hike in the Angeles National Forest to a rock formation called the "Devil's Chair". The hike was fairly moderate - some steeper passages every now and then but our stamina held up.
Monday was rounded up by a trip to the Universal Studios, which was pretty cool. Fun theme park rides and Hollywood movie flair
On Tuesday I said my goodbyes to the fox and the husky as they dropped me off at the airport again and I was off to see
neonoae in Chicago!
Before I got to his place I had to pick up a rental car though, and I was slightly nervous to driving in American traffic for the first time (and driving automatic for the first time - I'm used to stick, after all). But everything went alright, I had no problems at all; American drivers are so much more relaxed than Germans! Also, I never want to go back to driving stick again! XD XD XD
Spending the first three days at the woliger's place was awesome - we went grocery shopping together, to the mall together, to restaurants, just the two of us.... it may sound mundane, but doing all this stuff with Noa felt like we are a real couple... we never got to do that before.
So yeah, we took pleasure from the simplest things... just because we could enjoy and cherish each other's presence. That was the best!
On Friday then we drove to the MFF con hotel, which is only like 45 minutes away from where Noa lives. While we were waiting in line to check into our hotel room,
maximus-ursus stumbled across us on his way to work as registration staff member. We gave him big bearhugs and got a hold of his room key to pick up my Predators team jersey XD
We also ran into
holliehyena who gave us a few of her homemade cookies - they were amazing! So delicious! Thank you, Hollie!
We ran into so many people at the con and did lots of stuff, it's very hard to put the memories in the right order now. I'll try to give a shoutout to as many people as possible - might have to edit the journal later to add anyone I forgot.
Noa and I got to talk to and hang out with
unstablebill,
hyenapawz, whom we also had dinner with on Sunday, and
xids. We shared a lot of hugs with
makaio whenever we ran into him. I met
tankdragon who is one of Noa's buds. Many times we bumped into
blueeyedwolf and
bigwolfpaws - that was fun, guys!
Also we got to hug
maximus-ursus a few more times in his fursuit - that big blue burr is just so soft and fluffy!
Oh, and I got to see a few other members of the team when we met for a photo shoot on Saturday. GO PREDATORS!!
We sure as hell got quite a few sketchbook commissions from awesome artists this year - together, Noa and I commissioned
cooner,
donryu,
redkam,
modemredpill,
musclewolf,
tkddbull and
kensukethecat
All of the sketches we got will be scanned in and posted here on FA over the next few days ^.^
The shows at MFF we attended were the great comedy show "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" - a venue we saw for the first time last year and that we really like - as well as the Uncle Kage and 2 the Ranting Gryphon charity hour, during which I tipped 5 euros to 2 the Gryphon as a joke for saying that Germany is such a great country when he was talking about his experiences with Eurofurence. I think those 5 euros later ended up as part of the charity donations XD
One other venue that we attended was the Furry Variety show. I always admire those who have the courage to go up there on stage and perform their songs or comedy skits. They did a pretty good job! ;-3
It was very sad when the con was over and we had to say goodbye to everyone. Noa and I spend most of the day at his place before I had to go to the airport, return the car and take a flight back to Germany. I was keeping it under control as best as I could, but on the plane I cried myself to sleep that night (it helped that the seat next to me was empty).
I had a wonderful time in the States and I miss my beloved woliger so very, very much
Here's hoping that we get to be with each other again as soon as possible and also to a great MFF next year!

FA+

Hopefully next year's MFF get's here quickly, til then do stay strong and 'member that you're loved so very much. *Hugs*
And I can't wait for it!
Great and cute con-report!^^
Shame that you didn't visit me when you were in California.
I also cried in the plane home too !
Awww! Maybe next time?
And it sucks leaving your other half behind, doesn't it?
You and Noa really are awesome together. And there's nothing wrong with appreciating the simple mundane things. Most people take them for granted, and even taking into account they're usually with their SO 24/7, they really shouldn't.
It's a shame though... it'd be fun to meet you at an MFF someday
Awwww... thanks! You're right about that
Well maybe someday I can make it there again. *snugs*
I hope you enjoyed having water spit in your face with me. XD What a...UNIQUE bonding experience for us!
And yes... we both got spit at by the same man. You could say we're "spit brothers" now XD
Sounds like a hell of a time.
On the plus side, only 359 more days before you get to meet with your BF again. Which is more than enough time for you to plan on what you'll do together.
And yes... that's one way to look at it positively.
