I imagine there are. I've recently introduced bird-like animal-kin and amphibians have shown up. I think that an insect-like people would exist in their own part of the world, and I do plan to open up the world more, so maybe we'll see what they're like.

Will there be any humans in the comic?

Other than the one time I did it as an April-fools joke, no. It was fun to draw the cast as humans, but for purposes of this world, animal-kin are the closest we get to that type of mammal.

Though, I doubt it's the last time we'll see their human forms.

How common is gooey grass, in the world? And are there other, similarly sticky traps that might not have been discovered by the crew yet?

It's probably as common as quicksand, and there are all sorts of types that they probably have to watch out for. I'll have to perhaps put together a guide on the different kinds of hazards you could face that aren't monsters.

When not using vacuum-based weaponry, the MCP has their own ways to capture things in a more globby way, and most local law-enforcement prefers that non-violent method as well.

One more question about the world - a lot of animal-kin are barefoot, but is is possible that some of them wear shoes or sandals, or is the land just too comfortably squishy for that kind of thing?

Shoes are only used for certain situations, very rare situations, and even then they're very minimal in style. Being barefoot is natural in the world because of how soft everything is (even the streets are soft) and in most situations with vacuum monsters, the shoes would get sucked off.

The whole, "are some animal kin raised for food" question still needs to be answered.

I wouldn't say they're raised to be food, I think it just sort of turns out that way. Monsters in the world have been raised specifically for food, though, and even some monsters will raise other monsters just to later eat them.

I'm guessing it's primarily the class 2's that do the raising.

Is there any monsters that inflate their victims to make them helpless?

Some do, as a defensive mechanism. There's other things too that, well, let's just say next chapter will hit on this topic a little bit.

Hrm. I'm rather curious about the properties of Kaz himself. We've seen him flattened a bit and stretched, he seems very resilient in general. What exactly is the cute and loveable mischief maker?

The next chapter may or may not be focusing a bit on that guy.

What holidays are celebrated on the world / by Kaz and crew?

Most holidays are based off of famous monsters, fictional monsters, or based off of constellations. Animal-kin also celebrate any occasion where they aren't spending the day inside a hungry monster.

What decade would you describe that most of the music on the world is currently like?

A lot of the most popular music is done with wind instruments, so I imagine a lot of the music has a classical and jazz influence to it. Sylvia Lane, who appeared at the end of chapter 4, is a jazz musician.

How do you come up with the fashion in this world? What's the key inspiration to the clothing designs?

It's simple. Kaz realized one day just how awesome thumb / foot straps are and needed a way to show it; thus, this comic was born.

For main characters, I just think of the most appropriate clothes that would be the most embarassing as well. Also, jumpsuits/flightsuits. I pretty much think what would be the worst possible outfits to wear in a world filled with heavy winds.

Zeppy was inspired by the idea of giant space whales :D Sadly though, he's not one.

Anything that would make the world seem less scary wouldn't exist in this universe.

WHAT ARE THE HOSPITALS LIKE?

Oh, hmm, I imagine with that type of world, most "illnesses" or bugs that people catch result in different transformations that need attention. When you walk into the waiting room, you'd be best to not step on someone suffering from melt-ism, or bump into a person who has lost all sense of friction due to gleem-plant pollen. If you look up you might see a couple people who've caught the floats, as well.

Other wings of a hospital focus on delicate surgeries, such as removal from particularly bothersome monsters, or the rescue of a person sucked into a tiny gourd. Certainly, other procedures are needed when two souls have swapped minds after looking into the same reflection of a void-puddle.
