Festive Season of Griswold proportions!
So I'm back in my home country of Namibia visiting my folks. And let me tell you it hasn't been without incident.
Upon arrival I found that my aunt would be staying with us and my brother would be in tow too. My bro broke a bone in his hand on a plane door he was helping to fix( he's an aircraft mechanic). So his right hand is bandaged up. Not a good sign for me.
For as you see, my parents are DIY folks. Yup. Full on. My dad rewired, nailed and soldered his drill together. I swear to you it's a monster of a machine and fire hazard.
My mom believes on a clean house the point of it being an Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour. Anyway, this is a problem because my dad and mom have had me running around making an outside sink for laundry, gardening, rebuilding a pot plant shelf and god knows what else. My bro can't help out because...well..fucked up hand and all that jazz. Now I'm not complaining, I'm actually enjoying it, sitting on my ass drawing all day makes me realise how much I missed out doorsie work.
My dad then decided to pull a Clark W. Griswold on the house and strap christmas lights everwhere! Did we buy a christmas tree? Fuck nein! My father built a tree. YES, he built a tree. He took a thick tree branch, drilled holes in it then made me wire and stuff it with foliage from our pine tree. This is a colossal monstrosity of a tree. The weight of the 'branches' is digging it into the living room floor. I think we may have actually planted this sonovabitch there!
I then met my brother's girlfriend of 3 years finally a week ago. He lives in a different city from me. He and her fight like unto cats and dogs. I mean there isn't a month that goes by where they haven't broken up for like a day. And when I met her I knew exactly why. This ign'ant m'th'rfuck'r went and found a girl exactly like our mom. I laughed my balls off when I first saw this calamity.
But..to each their own. They are a cute couple and I'm happy for him.
Personally, she reminds me so much of my mom, I can only take so much before I start whining "mooommm!". Lol.
Anywho, I just wanted to keep ya'll updated. The passed few months have been a rollercoaster of emotion, attitudes, ideas and change. And next year I'm planning on finally producing those books I've been writing. Exciting times are ahead for me. I hope I'll get to share them with ya'll.
Scratch that, I will be sharing them with you.
Merry Christmas to one and all! Have a most festive season with all those you love. :)
