Upload the image like you normally would. Then, edit the submission and upload the same image again. It should be its original size now. Would go into detail, but using phone right now.

You can upload larger picture then the maximum size but it will be cut down to 1280px x 1280px and so if you click on download you'll get the full size of the picture.

If you submit a pic, then edit the submission data and reupload, you'll bypass the limit

im not sure how it happens but I have a submission that I uploaded that didnt get resized and its a massive resolution. People seem to really enjoy it tho haha. The file I uploaded is just a normal .jpg, nothing special.

I think its a bug when they reupload over the old file? I'd call it a good bug tho well apart from the fact that it doesn't fit the screen then.
i think it should be like inkbunny etc and let you upload bigger but show it to fit the screen so you get a full size pic if you download it.

But i feel if i stick to the 1280 in my next pic everything seems so cluttered.

I always size mine down to 1152 x 720. That way it'll fit on pretty much everyone monitor.

Some people's images are so large, I doubt they could fit it on a 4k display.

If they ever patch this "bug" then I am going to be furious and hope everyone abandons the site.

I have lost count of how many images have been completely destroyed by the shitty compression used in their forced resizing, and thinking the resolution limit is a legitimate bandwidth or space saving technique is just plain stupid and ignorant.
