when people are worldbuilding and they don't even bother to build from the ground up and just copy/paste vaguely appropriate cultures into their worlds without an inkling as to how they've grown into their respective states I just

Pls don't just go around lifting things unless you're going to actually learn about them and then develop things further from them so you are not simply slapping stuff together. IT SHOWS A MILE OFF AND IS REALLY INSULTING TO THE PEOPLE YOU ARE LIFTING IT FROM. And also offensive as in a lot of cultures it is considered a very personal form of theft as these sorts of things are unique to the person, not just their life.

Basically just... read. Learn. Look deeper, longer and work more thoroughly to tie things together without being lazy!
