Happy 2014!

Just letting ya'll know that I'm not dead. :)
My computer is though. I'm borrowing the husband's computer for this. My poor beast literally caught on fire last week while I was working on holiday artz. One minute I'm touching up some tits, then BOOM, smoke is coming out of the chassis.
We're fine. I got it out so fast that the smoke alarm didn't even go off.
Seems the fan on my videocard stopped functioning at some point, and as my computer has about twenty billion fans going in it at any given time (art and gaming computer), I didn't hear the one for the VC stop. Buuut, the motherboard and the videocard suffered some melting.
We've had to delay fixing it because my hubby caught the flu the day after Christmas, and I was infected the day after that. Which meant I wasn't getting out of bed longer than to shuffle my poor swollen and sore body to the bathroom or to the kitchen so sip soup and go back to hiding in the dark. No worries though! I'm MUCH better and pretty much back to functioning beyond taking my normal routine more easily for now.
The parts for the comp are ordered and should be arriving in the next few days. We won't know if anything else that wasn't directly melted suffered circuit surge damage till we get the new VC and MB installed.
I'm pretty certain the HD should be all right, so I'm not too concerned even though the possibility of it not being so is there. Worrying is a misuse of imagination anyway.
Other than that, we have had a fabulous holiday making merry with friends and family that I'll be remembering when I'm a kooky old cat lady, and I'm so excited for this fresh new year!
May everything wonderful happen to you this year, my friends. I'll pop back up here again soon. *hugs to all!*
