An Update -- HI!

Hey all, this is Kulbara's mate,
sbw-tusachi typing this up. He gave me the okay for getting on his account to do this, so no need to freak out about it. =p But no, just giving a sort of status update on what's going on with him as per the past couple of days. I know he's not too much of a talkative fellow in general, and I'm not sure how that works for his relationships with others.
In any case, the holiday season came and with very smoothly. Very busy, as I found out Kulbara spends a lot (and I mean a LOT) of time with his family, both immediate and extended. He was sorta grumpy sometimes, but got through it with a cheery heart for the most part. ^.=.^ New Years Eve was pretty cool too for the most part! We got mini crab cakes from a local butcher, and I ordered an awesome pizza from an awesome restaurant while he got some shrimp kebabs. Also vodka and champagne and rum chata, oh my! Though right before midnight hit he suddenly got really sick. Eventually we figured it might have been Strep Throat, since he was acting sort of in that way. With how it eventually acted though, and how everyone around him got sick, it was pretty much surmised to be the flu. The bastard. I'll still have to punch him for that. I got a hardcore fever from that... harumph!
Though that's when it started getting pretty nasty for him. When everyone else was recovering, he was not. In fact he seemed to be mostly staying the same, if not getting worse at points. I admit I thought he was being sort of a wimp. He kind of is when it comes to pain in general, and ESPECIALLY with being sick! A little overly dramatic is a better way of describing it! XD But, today, it came to the point that he really did need to go to the hospital. I was checking him out, and he seemed to be dehydrated. Sunken eyes, flushed cheeks, not urinating at all, and very flat/shriveled veins.
He really did NOT want to go to the hospital. He thought perhaps we could just go to an urgent care center and get the IV taken care of there, but they stopped doing that. Going to the appropriate place, the hospital, we got a couple IVs in him and he was looking a LOT better, like immediately. But he wasn't feeling better, and in fact, still felt just as bad. Likely still the flu. When the doctor was casually talking to him, Kulbara mentioned how his lower back really hurt, and how he was actually having troubles breathing the past couple days. At that point the doctor got rather serious before turning around, asking exactly where it hurt, and if he remembered exactly when it started.
This queued in the prompt for an x-ray to check for pneumonia. That came back negative, but there was something strange shown on there anyways, and that called for what the doctor also wanted anyways: a CAT scan. Turns out there's excess air within his chest area that isn't meant to be there. It's up in his neck somewhat as well. Not a very good thing to have happen. At all! So, he got transferred to a larger hospital where they would be better able to take care of him in case something happened over night to him, as it's possible that if there was a hole somewhere in his trachea or near the lungs, then one could decompress. Excess air anyways, as the immediate threat, could press against the lung or the heart and threaten to cease their function. Generally speaking cases like this come out totally fine. The body resolves the problem on its own, and you can go about your merry way. However if not kept track of it can be fatal very easily, and in Kulbara's case, they don't know why or how the air got there in the first place, and thus tests need to be conducted tomorrow. He's been in quite a bit of pain, and they've even given him some morphine to help quell it.
I'll tell all those who are concerned that he'll be alright, and that there's nothing to worry about, but it's so much easier to just say that than to actually 'do' it. In fact I'm worried sick about the damn bugger. I hate how these things have to happen so suddenly.
Hopefully, though, when he comes back from all this and sees this journal, it'll help him feel a lot better. Wish him the best of luck-- I'll be sure to tell him in the morning when I get back to the hospital!

FA+

I'm really happy that you guys had a nice holiday before this, and that Kul has such a caring guy looking out for him... My best wishes go out to the both of you.
Please make sure he knows Shrapnel and the rest of his FA buddies are worried about him and can't wait for him to be back.
I know of his help problems... But cmon, this? Jeez, I wonder why God repeatedly neglects to PUT PEOPLE TOGETHER CORRECTLY. Especially knuckleheads like Kul....
I pray for his recovery and can't WAIT for him to back. I've been suffering Kulbara-withdrawal lately xD
My best wishes for him! *hugs*
Hoping for a speedy recovery. We all love his company.
I'm gonna be praying for him to make a speedy recovery. When he gets back, I'll be on Skype to talk to him and keep him company. Doesn't feel the same without one of my dragon bros around.
As always, i'll always be around on skype like many of your bros, Kul ^^ Get better soon!
Thanks for letting us know Grah~
