Weasyl is actually really nice, and pretty easy to use. It's sort of like Nabyn was, but more advanced I guess? I haven't messed around too much with it but it's a good site from what I've seen on it.

Weasyl is great...IF it can remain active. That was the problem last time there was a mass exodus (when Qarrezel left and all that went down), and also before that, when the site was just starting out. There was a flurry of activity there, and then it just...died, both times. I would very much love for Weasyl to take over from FA, but unless it continues to stay active, people will just gravitate back to here. :P

Yeah, I hope so too. I really like the interface and it has a lot fewer horror stories than FA does, but the habits of a large userbase can be pretty hard to break.

I've only been on Weasyl for a few hours but so far I seem to like it a lot. The community's been pretty nice, not that I've done a ton of interacting, but yeah. It also has a custom filter you can use to block out content with tags you don't want to see. I think the only thing I don't like is the thumbnail system. It displays all art with square thumbnails on the front page. It lets you set the thumbnail/preview from the upload page, but with it being square, it ruins the composition of a lot of my art, and makes it hard to tell what an image is really about before clicking on it. But other than that, it's pretty nifty. I'm personally switching over to it and tumblr (and remaining on dA) until FA gets its shit together.

Oh, bleh. Have you tried cropping a thumbnail separately so it doesn't squish rectangular pieces? I like the sound of that custom filter, though.

Yeah, if they fired that one staff addition I'd be tempted to come back...but with FA's track record I doubt you could trust some members of the administration to be any less good-ol'-boys apologist about any similar future situations that aren't highly publicized.
