Furaffinity Drama/Bullshit

EDIT: Understand I don't mean to offend people with this journal, I posted it with some annoyance, so please don't take it the wrong way.
Can someone help explain something to me, I kinda have a number of questions regarding the drama that's going on around FA and all the "I'm leaving FA" journals I keep seeing.
1. How many people wanna see the website updated?
2. How many years has this website been out of date?
3. How many times have you heard someone say "OMG I hate x, y, and z about this site... the admins need to do x, y and z" ?
and my final questions:
4. Why bitch about the new coder that is been given a place on staff to be able to fix everyone's complaints about this site, cause some drama between him and certain people happened?
5. Which is more important, leaving FA over drama or seeing the website updated?
Those are my questions to you guys, my take on this is a logical one. I don't quite understand what happened between the coder and the others, but why in the honest fuck does that matter right now? It's not like he's going to go ape shit crazy and ban everyone. He's been given a job to update a website that everyone uses for free. I know a lot of people that have left this website but you know what, you're going to another free website that can easily be the exact same way.
I'm tired of seeing people make poor decisions because of stuff that has nothing to do with them. If you're going to leave and go to another website, go... if it makes you happy, go... it's just the internet people.
The issues everyone is upset about is between the coder and the other parties in question. It's silly to leave a website over stuff that has nothing to do with you, and even more silly to hate an owner of a website for wanting to update it, over such a silly matter as this. No ones perfect so stop judging.
And before anyone says "oh you're just defending the owner or the coder" guess what, I'm stating my own opinion. This is all idiotic. "Oh the coder did x, y and z... I'm going to leave this FREE website cause I don't like the fact that he's been put in a position to UPDATE THE WEBSITE we've had issues with for years" Maybe FA should start charging for the website's usage, cause no matter what people are going to find a reason to bitch.
Once again don't get me wrong on this, I don't care about what the coder did, that's in the past and I'm sure the people (coder and related parties) are adult enough to handle the situation themselves. It's not my place to put my opinion in on that, however I do see a website that needs updated, the new look has a very simple and tumblr-esc look which makes it very user friendly.

FA+

1) Rape is not just 'some drama'.
2) As for him being adult enough to handle it... if his behaviour is any indication, no he isn't.
3) People have been getting suspended for speaking out about this. :I
As for the adult comment I posted in my journal, there is law outside of just this website. Logs and what not could easily be sent to investigators :) But again none of my business and neither is it anyone else's on this website, people can be asses I will say that, people have ego's, etc. I'm taking it from this perspective: We have multiple people saying they wanna update this website, I dunno if he's got the actual knowledge to do said things, but if he's given ideas good :) this website needs to be updated; however people are shooting down the people who have suggested ideas on upgrading the website on grounds of stuff that happened years ago. You see people constantly in journals complain daily about this website.
As for being suspended don't really know what's going on there, shall have to do more research on that part.
The problem is a pattern of behavior, of promises and being dropped, and of people being banned or suspended simply for not liking someone. It's totalitarian at best, and doesn't make a lot of sense. Sure, there's a large amount of noise going on, and a lot of it really stupid. But there's also people voicing valid concerns. And this is also about the 4th promised revision of FA that has been made with coders being brought in. Call me crazy, but after 3 times like this, I have my doubts about the 4th.
Additionally, did you know a coder who has long-standing experience with very, very large content delivery networks and other sites was dropped in favor of a new coder whom no one had previously heard of -as- a coder? Just heard of as an artist, not a coder. So it becomes a head-scratcher as to why this all really happened, and why someone with that stigma was chosen. Then, further, with the responses given by all involved to concerns about these allegations, responses that come off more as making someone guilty than clearing their conscience. It's just kinda messy all-around, and the situation was handled extremely poorly by staff here, which is unfortunate.
And last, your comment about the internet being the internet, "where the exact same stuff can happen." Akahi, shit can happen -anywhere-. That's not the point. The point is where has it happened, and who was involved? Why even bother voting for people to go to government that have your ideals when they "could" just ignore the platform. The idea is that people will stick to what they promise. You can vote for either the lesser evil, the greater good, and sometimes both at the same time when you're really lucky. People are hoping that perhaps Weasyl or other sites will be that 'both', with less bad and more good. So far they've had an awesome development record, are using far newer and faster web technologies (python application instead of PHP FastCGI) and have a lot nicer of a site. And people are hoping it will only get better.
Please don't simply get annoyed over the quantity of these journals. If anything, when you see so much of it from people you know, like, and trust... maybe you should look over more than what's on the surface, I dunno. I'm not really leaving FA myself, I wouldn't delete all my stuff as some people have. However, I really like a lot of the features of Weasyl more, and will be focusing on it a bit more, not because of the drama, but because... honestly I like it more. There's really no other reason for me.
(understand what I'm saying might offend but its hard to describe it any other way, so I apologize in advance... not trying to be a bad guy or anything)
And half of it is, I made this journal when I wasn't in the happiest of moods. I also hope my journal didn't come off as condescending or anything, just more out of annoyance. As for this website and the code, I've talked to one of the guys that was looking into possibly fixing the site and as he stated "the amount of work that would need to go into the website, would kill it, the website would be down for not just weeks but possibly months" you've also got the whole issue of how many people actually use this website. Several Hundreds of thousands, not to mention the amount of data this website is hosting.
The fur that I'm talking about backed out just due to the amount of coding it would take to fix it. As another fur put in their journal "FurAffinity is like an old rusted gullapi that drops about 1 quart of oil everytime it moves" As for the situation with Zaush, my biggest pieve about this thing is why the hell is everyone throwing their two cents in, ya it's a shitty situation and it was brought to light due to this website being hacked 3 years ago, but it's no one else's business but the people involved in that situation, yes it happened with someone who's pretty popular in this fandom, but every fur doesn't have to stoop down to the level of saying "here's my 2 pennies I'm throwing my opinion out here" And ya I guess I am throwing my own 2 pennies in too so =/
It's silly to cause drama period, past, present and future; and for people like me who are here for the artwork (yes I probably could just easily nuke all my journals, and I might start doing that too) but the issues start rubbing everyone after a while, specially when we have to keep signing up for one website after another just cause someone finds another reason to leave. Stick to one website :P fix up said website and help donate if they accept them, don't go moving to a new website cause its the new shiny :) I've seen weasyl for a while now and I'll say I love the design the coding is awesome there.
In Review: my thoughts are basically =/ I don't wanna have to go to some other website to watch my favorite artists due to some issue that really doesn't involve them, (cause it looks like that to me (and what I mean by that is that the website yes it does have issues, it does need to be updated; it's going to be a very very very big project to handle and will take more then just "oh ya you can do it" to get it fixed, it takes sitting down and planning being a major decision maker on who has the credentials to take up this huge undertaking. It would also take letting your audience know what to expect, and honestly the best way to code it is from scratch, but you're going to have issues, you're going to need to beta the website and ask your audience what they like and hate about it, and fix those issues based on that until someone says "OMG that's awesome I have no issues") The other thing's ya I'm sure I can't really say can be fixed as easy. Issues and fights happen, but not everyone on this website needs to jump in and give their ideas on the situation of said issue/fight.
(ya maybe I like the idea that everyone could try and get along, cause look at us. We're people that have come together for one purpose, because we all love anthropomorphic creatures, we're fans of ourselves. Lets be better then some squabbles and get along if we can, if we can't then don't talk to the other person you're having issues with, let's be grown up instead of being children)
The staff, even though a lot of people don't like the things they've done lately have kept this website going for a long time, and it's still up right now as I'm typing this, so they do deserve some credit; but its also time to fix it a lot of the users here are wanting some well made changes and want to see it happen and not be pushed a side cause it's too much work. Assuming a few things (I don't wanna make an ass out of myself but) I dunno what the bans were for, I could see someone banning a few people to try and quell the issue some. Simply put there need's to be a lot more updates to everything, Rules and Abilities the Admin have, designate some kind of warning system or something.
