---✖--- I really really want to move out of my mom's house.
I've always thought I'd enjoy having a roommate, but iunno. xD Splitting the bills would be nice. I'm just so bossy though, or.. well not really bossy, but a neat/control freak. That'd probably be a huge problem with living with someone.
Any of you have a roommate?
How/where did you guys meet and decide to live together? How does the general running of the house go?

My best friend is dealing with a lazy shit ass roommate right now.
As Mazz said, you can and possibly will hit that patch where your roomate will be short on rent.
Or what happened to a friend, he was under another friends lease, and this said friend made him pay extra just so he could waste his money on things he wanted.
Me personally, Im very untrusting, and love my personal space.
But these are others problems. Its tricky,....
Ive lived with family, a couple friends, my mm of course, then my foster mm (Foster care for 4 years) and many other when at job corps, and there is just SO many comparability issues.
My persoal space has been invaded, Ive been stolen from, I have to deal with others drama, forced to meet people I don't want to know because of them, and misc rules they set up.
I don't like it, I hate it, Ive delt with it for 7 years, and now Im finally at peace. Only issue now is working enough to keep my independance.
And Im lucky enough to live in Low-Income housing.
Because everything else is $500 plus. With the job market as tough as it is, thats steep.
Apartments around here are so dang expensive for one person, and I live in the middle of nowhere in Ohio. Like a studio is about 300$ a month and that doesn't include your utilities. I'm not poor enough or have any kids to qualify for low income housing either. Sucks butt. xc
I think the difference is that I live on a college campus.
But every year I have really rude, inconsiderate, messy, and passive aggressive room mates that flat out do not listen.
The one good room mate I've had is my best friend, but that's a real gamble. You have to be willing to live with the person.
The first one I thought I got lucky with because it was my cousin who I got along with really well...
>.> Turns out being friends or family with someone and living with them is just two different things.
My second room mate turned out to be my boyfriend lol
Room mates is just like a relationship.
You need to have rules & boundries between the two of you.
And both have to give & take.
I didn't know I was a neat freak until I moved out on my own and then ~Poof~ O.O must be clean.. all of it lol
He's great. At first it was weird living with a completely stranger, but he's really responsible, and probably the only reason my relationship is great with my boyfriend.
I'm sure not every time it turns out as great as what I had going.
I mean, my first roommate was my best friend for years, and now we don't even talk to each other. That was a terrible idea.
