Never mind on the never mind, I'm going to Weasyl after all
12 years ago
Right, first off, regarding Fur Affinity:
I'm not going to weigh in on ... everything, because everything that can be said already has, the battle lines have already been drawn, and all that's left is for the users to make their own personal decisions. GuNMouTH has a good journal here that both lays out the problem and (and this is important, and this is why I'm linking this journal in particular) points out that everyone has a right to choose a response. Those who wish to stay have every right to wish to stay. Those who wish to leave have every right to wish to leave. I am choosing that I am not comfortable with the direction of this website, and I would like to explore alternatives. I am not out to pick any fights with people who think differently on the matter. I ask you to please extend the same courtesy.
Regarding Weasyl:
Simply put, I was wrong. I gave Weasyl a chance, was unimpressed, and made a journal to that effect. However, I will give Weasyl's staff a ton of credit for their response. campersander jumped in and addressed every point I brought up, and had a very civil discussion with me about the things they intended to fix and such. Honestly, I was so impressed with that that I almost felt guilty for having been hard on Weasyl; their staff does care, or at least campersander does.
Paired with the FA situation getting even more contentious than it was when I first started and made that journal, and a ton of people I was watching migrated to Weasyl, I decided the time was right to try again. I'm glad I did. This time, I do like it there. That whole thing about writing support? Check out my novel's submission page over there. It looks pretty slick, I'd say.
Regarding the future:
https://www.weasyl.com/~kjorteo
It's probably a bit premature to say I'm leaving FA forever and never logging in ever again ever. I'll probably hang around and respond to a comment or two here and there. Plus, uh, I kind of run
nmfurs, and I should probably get with my co-mod and figure that one out before I abandon it or anything.
However, let it be known that I am phasing over toward Weasyl, with the eventual long-term goal of leaving Fur Affinity. I already have all of my content from
kjorteo over there, and I am currently working on moving the
teogifts stuff. Because Weasyl has folders, I can keep everything better organized with one account over there than I could with two over here.

I hope to see you there!
