If you can't show respect for this planet and the beings living on it, then you don't deserve to live here. Maybe they can go to Mars and do that shit but we've already fucked this planet to high hell, we don't need shit like this going on.

It takes a sick and twisted individual to do this. I believe if you are cruel to animals, you most likely treat other vulnerable groups like shit as well or are high risk of doing so in the future (children, elderly, disabled, etc).

Spent several summers working at a sanctuary in CA, http://pawsweb.org/ spent most of my days shoveling elephant $#i* but it was a fantastic cause, got to work with many beautiful animals that had been brutally tortured in circuses/zoos, both by the "keepers" and by other abusive animals, and would like to hope I helped rehabilitate them in some small way.

The founder used to be an animal trainer in Hollywood until she saw what really went on, spent the rest of her life fighting to get circuses banned. Recently lost a battle with cancer, but her cause is making some steam in the US, recently LA banned the use of hooks in training elephants.

Unfortunately "laws" will do nothing to tame the temper of a monster, so all we can do is lock these people up as we discover them.

I got lost looking at the site and watching the videos on PAWS on Youtube <3 It was neat seeing the Toronto elephants :D I knew they had left but wasn't sure where to. Sad about the founder :( Hope they continue to add to this awesome organization <3

Hopefully some stronger laws might make some offenders think twice before doing something terrible to an animal, but yeah most of the time we find out who's a monster after they've shown their teeth :(

They all wound up in California, very well taken care of. I think some have passed from old age since I left, but it's a great retirement home for them to live out the days they have remaining in peace.

Founder's gone but her partner is still a great political schmoozer and has Bob Barker on their side, donating over $5 million to build new houses for the elephants they bring in and keep the place running.

sad to say some people just don't care about their pets and don't see them as living creatures with feelings, but as mere toys. :(

its a sick and horrible mindset and I'd never do anything like that to my cat or any animal for that matter :o

Those type of people shouldn't have pets if they don't want to treat them as part of the family.

I took in a stray cat once. He was really nice and had a long life with my family (he passed away last year) and we always thought he had been abused once because he had a limp in his hind leg :o

I had worked as a veterinary technician for about 5 years for a large animal shelter and in that time I have had a lot of cruel abuse cases come in. One of my last ones was a puppy who had been having gastric problems for over a week and we had run many different blood panels and other tests to try and figure out what was wrong with him. Finally, we convinced the head moron to let us run the radiograph we had wanted from the start, only to find a .38 round in his liver. Aren't humans wonderful.

I got her adopted out to a nice big loving family and helped them pressure the medical director into providing the surgery to remove the bullet. Last i heard, she's doing great with them
