How Furry Fiesta Went! PROBABLY OPENING COMMISSIONS?

Furry Fiesta was so much fun! The only bad things about it, I guess, was that the hotel was probably not ready at all for a convention of that magnitude. Apparently they'd switched to a larger hotel than in years past, but the one we ended up at hadn't hosted a large convention in about a decade and some of the amenities were... less than stellar. The escalators and elevators went out of commission several times, and the Corral was a pain to walk to, completely out of the way down a dark hallway. Plus, they took a day and a half to actually deliver ice...
The other major problem was that 18 seats for an Artist Alley was way too small a number for the amount of folks who wanted to sell things. I didn't manage to get a seat the entire time, and even folks like
donryu and 
karno were fighting over spots! So I didn't end up selling a single thing, although I managed to trade sketches with 
and 
, and got a sketch from Donryu and 
wolfkidd...
Also, I'm so glad I met up with everyone <3 My roomies were great, and I ended up making a few new friends and meeting folks I didn't expect to see there! (shout out to
Seamen, 
muddyness, 
shenanigans, donryu, and 
onnanoko!!) I participated in the Iron Artist, Art Jam and Fetish panels, and folks seemed to really enjoy my drawings - if I had a dollar for everytime someone told me "YOU DRAW SO SMALL BUT SO DETAILED" I wouldn't need to open commissions! xD
I also had a teeny bag of gemstones I'd dug up over the years and handed them out to folks who wanted them. Aventurine, Fluorite, Quartz, Amethyst, Olivine, Kyanite... I even had a few teeny sapphires and garnets! Those seemed to interest folks. :-P
Man, I wish I hadn't had to leave early on Sunday... I'd have liked to have stayed for the whole thing! It almost seems like a dream now that I look back at it. It was SUCH a blast even with all the frustrations! I'd definitely go again.
That being said I discovered there's actually some con in Knoxville, TN, which is probably the closest con I'll ever get unless I move somewhere else xD So maybe that'll end up being a goal for me! Who knows!
